Here are some more pics from last weekend’s amazing High Tide Festival
Me, DJ Ted and Nick Leon launched a new area called and we all had so much fun playing vinyl-only funk, Latin, Afro, disco, sunshine house and to my very great pleasure an hour-long finale of my ‘80s wedding set of tropical nuggets from Pigbag to Prince to Soft Cell to The Clash to Stevie to Eddy Grant to (obviously) Wham, ending on Summer Lovin’ with 500 people shouting out the words, it was electric!

I also realised it was the first time in about 4 years since I’ve played out, and probably the first time in about 15 years 100% vinyl. I had forgotten how much I love it. And hammered in how s**t it is playing off a USB! Yes a gust of wind blew Chaka Khan off the platter at one point but that’s the way we roll 😆

Hopefully we will see you again next year, put in a good word for us please - and tell us what you enjoyed dancing to… 🌞🍷🌴💥

Maybe this should be the name of my next Jem Stone album? 😆

Huge congrats to and the team, was a rip-roaring triumph! We had such a blast in our new zone where me, DJ Ted and Nick Leon smashed out 9 hours of sunshine funk, Latin, house, disco and a finale of tropical ‘80s pop golden nuggets.

Thanks to the hundreds of people who came and partied with us in glorious weather on our beautiful terrace right by the river, massive thanks to ’s fab decor and our very kind helpers.

I hope we can do it again next year!

This is the very first single I ever bought, - Fade to Grey. What was yours?

It was Autumn 1980, I was 11 and I vividly remember stomping the 2 miles to WHSmith in Richmond on a Saturday morning having seen the video on Top of the Pops just a couple of nights before, totally enraptured, intent on owning it. It was so futuristic and sexy it blew my little socks off, and I played it till I almost wore out the grooves!

Rusty Egan’s solid, understated drums, particularly when they slam in before the last chorus (also the quirky fills on my other favourite Visage track, We Move, on the flip of Mind of a Toy) beautifully complimented the drum machine and I fully credit that as the starting point for my own love of dancing the line between man and machine, in all art forms. Hats off to too, another innovator I followed closely.

So what was your first single, or the one that first truly resonated?

Don’t wear it out… 😁

Just been to the fantastic MC Esher exhibition at Somerset House, just mindblowing.
I have been besotted by Esher since my teens, here’s a self-portrait I made directly inspired by him when I was about 16.
And I got a buzz showing the tattoo I’d had done just a couple of years after that the actual picture it was derived from!

Go and see it!
