Pleased to share a new listing to the range of prints on the Kiki Vara Design Etsy Store.

It's taken a while to complete this, whilst I learn to navigate and balance the demands of motherhood, but I got there in the end.

This is the second piece of art in my patterned landscapes series, and the first one I created after becoming a mum. The inspiration for this piece came from our last major travel adventure, before the real adventure of parenting began, before life everywhere, for everyone changed.

The scene depicts a boat out at sea, ready to go from island to island in the distance. There is continuity of style with the previous piece 'Bear Mountain' through the use of pattern and bright colours, and the two together would pair harmoniously.

You Name It...⁠ Black & Gold Edition⁠

⁠Following on from the pretty pastel version is the black and gold edit for those of you who prefer something a little darker and decadent. ⁠
⁠⁠
These are acrylic place names to complete your table setting for your wedding reception and tie in nicely your wedding stationery. Each place name has been hand painted and has custom hand calligraphy (no Cricut vinyl decals here), and a subtle shimmering black against a gold leaf and are perfect for the couple that appreciates handcrafted luxury. ⁠⁠

These were designed in tandem with some wax seals I made last summer and I was drawing inspiration from textures, fine art and my love of all things metallic.⁠⁠

Strangely Satisfying ⠀⠀⁠
⠀⠀⠀⁠
There’s something about working on wax seals which is strangely satisfying. From the texture of the hot wax, to the transition from liquid to solid as it makes contact with the cold marble during pressing. My favourite part is the snap sound it makes as you remove the stamp and free the seal from the marble. ⁠

These were some I made last summer and I was drawing inspiration from textures and my love of all things metallic and floral and combining them with botanical and calligraphic motifs. ⁠

Slow Progress update⁠

As you can see, progress on this piece has come at a snail’s pace. ⁠
⁠
Keeping in theme with my previous piece “Bear Mountain” I’m making use of a lot of small analogue patterns for a seascape. ⁠
⁠
This piece is inspired by our last big adventure before The Big Adventure (parenting) began and captures a scene out at sea in Indonesia going island hopping around a tropical archipelago. I’m not quite sure how this is going to turn out but I’m excited to get it finished. ⁠
