What Amazon policies are the most important?

Rules and policies on Amazon can vary depending on the product category and region, but there are several common policies that are often considered important for sellers. Here are some of the key ones:

1. Brand and Manufacturer Policy: This policy regulates the sale of products under well-known brands. Sellers may need permission from the manufacturer or brand to sell.

2. Product Quality Policy: Amazon strives to ensure high-quality products on its platform. Sellers need to monitor the quality of their products and provide accurate descriptions.

3. Intellectual Property Policy: Violating intellectual property rights is prohibited. Sellers should be mindful of trademarks and copyrights.

4. Customer Reviews Policies: Manipulation of reviews, including buying or selling reviews, is prohibited. Adhering to these rules is important for maintaining customer trust.

5. Restricted Products Policy: Certain products have restrictions on their sale on Amazon. Sellers should familiarize themselves with the list of restricted products for their category.

6. Delivery and Service Policies: Amazon has standards for delivery times and service quality. Sellers should comply with these standards to avoid negative consequences.

7. Return Policies: Sellers are recommended to have clear and fair return policies. This is important for customer satisfaction and compliance with Amazon standards.

Note that these policies may change, and it's essential to regularly check Amazon's official resources for up-to-date information. We remind you that on our service PriceX.ai, you can get optimal prices and never violate Amazon policies. So, feel free to register (http://pricex.ai/)!

Choosing Products for FBA
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a program offered by Amazon that allows sellers to send their products to Amazon's warehouses, where Amazon takes care of storage, packaging, and customer order delivery. Here are some recommendations for selecting products to sell on FBA:

Market Research: Research the market and identify products in demand among customers. Use market analysis tools to study popular categories and products.

Consider Size and Weight: Remember that Amazon charges storage fees based on the size and weight of products. Ensure that the selected products are economically viable for storage.

Market Size: Choose products with a sufficiently large market and potential for sales growth.

Competition: Evaluate the level of competition in your chosen category. Avoid overly saturated markets.

Pricing: Calculate your costs for procurement, shipping, and Amazon fees to set competitive prices. By the way, our service pricex.ai can help you with this.

Branding: Consider the possibility of selling products under your own brand. This can help in creating unique products and reducing competition.

Reviews and Ratings: Pay attention to the ratings and reviews of similar products on Amazon. This can give you an idea of the quality and customer satisfaction.

Supply Availability: Ensure reliable and stable product supply. Supply issues can affect your store's rating on Amazon.

Rules and Restrictions: Check the rules and restrictions set by Amazon for selling specific products. Some products may require special permissions.

Promotion: Explore opportunities to promote your products on Amazon, such as advertising and discounts.

Choosing products to sell on FBA requires careful research and planning. It's important to select products that align with your business goals, have high demand, and profit potential, and our PriceX.ai service can help you obtain optimal prices for your FBA products.

A little about bullet points

We continue our articles about listing content and today we will talk about bullet points. Bullet points are a bulleted list of 5-7 items that appear to the right of the main product image. Usually, 75% of buyers make their purchase decision after reading them.

Each bullet point can contain up to 500 characters and should describe a significant feature of the product. A good example would be describing the type and speed of a laptop's processor, while a not-so-good example would be mentioning the included accessories (e.g., extra charging cable, case, etc.).

Bullet points should provide a brief description of the five best or most important features or advantages of the product. There are a few rules to follow:

- You cannot mention anything about the product's price, shipping method, or your company.
- Nothing should have a marketing tone.
- You can only use letters and numbers, without HTML tags or complex codes.
- Order your bullet points by importance, with the most important ones at the beginning and descending in importance.
- Make sure you don't exceed the maximum character limit (500 characters) for each bullet point.
- Each bullet point should start with a capital letter.
- Your bullet points should not be lengthy sentences.

We wish everyone successful sales and remind you that we offer free plans on PriceX.ai, so don't hesitate to register (https://pricex.ai/)!

How to track competitors?

In one of the previous articles we wrote about how to find competitors. Now let's figure out how best is to track them.

Competitors tracking is an important thing for analyzing your own products, in a right way it can seriously increase the chance of a sale. Although, everyone would prefer that there were no competitors at all, their existance is a healthy thing. Competition allows to keep market participants in good shape, helps to find ways to improve offers. Competitor analysis can help you find important information .

Typically Amazon sellers monitor the following parameters of their competitors:

1. Content. By analyzing competitors content (images, descriptions, bullet points, positioning) you can compare it with yours and make the necessary changes to your listings.

2. Sales. Sales analysis allows you to find out their dynamics, seasonality. Sales can be analyzed indirectly (using Best Seller Rank) and directly using various services (including PriceX.ai).

3. Prices. This is the most important thing that the costumer evaluates when making a purchase decision. Prices can be tracked manually (by spreadsheets) or using external services, one of which is PriceX.ai.

We are waiting for you at PriceX.ai! We have a price tracking system and daily mails about your competitors prices changes.

How to find competitors?

The functionality of PriceX.ai (https://pricex.ai/) allows you to track competitors' prices even on a free Private Label plan (https://pricex.ai/private-label). But how to find and choose competitors? There are a few simple rules:

1. Look for the products with similar application scenarios to yours, but don't be limited to the same style and material.

2. Competitors BSR must be near to BSR of your products, it's no sense to compare a product with 5-10 sales per day and a competitor with thousands of sales.

3. Go through the first 7 pages of search results for your main keywords (2-3 are enough).

4. See what products are advertised on your listings.

5. Competitors products must be from a similar value category as yours.

6. The level of product content (descriptions, images, videos) should approximately match yours.

7. Read competitors' products reviews to know what buyers think about them.

8. If you have found a seller of a similar product line - visit his store: there may be matches with your products.

After you have collected a list of competitive products, we are waiting for you on our PriceX.ai service (https://pricex.ai/private-label): there you can add them to the tracking system and receive daily emails about their prices changes.

Be ready for the new FBA fees!

From October 15, 2022 to January 15, 2023, Amazon introduced increased FBA fee rates.

The changes, as usual, will affect all possible storage formats:
- Small standard
- Large standard
- Small size
- Medium size

Fuel and inflation charges are also added to the base FBA storage fee, which add up to an additional 5% of the cost.

On average, the increase in rates will be around 10% compared to previous prices.
For example:
- Small standard (6+ to 12 oz) will rise from $3.22 to $3.43 (+0.21$ or +6.5%);
- Large standard (12+ to 16 oz) will rise from $4.75 to $5.06 (+0.31$ or +6.5%);
- Small oversize (70 lb or less) will rise from $9.39 + $0.40/lb over 1 pound to $10.44 + $0.40/lb over 1 pound (+$1.05 or +11.2%);

Amazon is the largest marketplace in the world. According to the Helium10 service, it has 310 million buyers and 6.3 million sellers.

If you already have an established e-commerce business, new product ideas, or have an experience in this field starting your Amazon business might be a good move.

Before you start, you should to choose sales business scheme, the most popular ones are:

- Private label. This scheme is suitable for brand owners. You will need to send products to customers from your warehouse or from Amazon warehouses using FBA program. It is worth noting that the most interesting Amazon tools for sellers are designed specifically for Private Label. Also this business scheme is the least risky, but has a fairly high price for entry. If you don't have your own brand Amazon has instructions about how to register it online.
- Dropshipping. Using this business scheme there is no need to store products in your own warehouse or FBA. Your goal is to get an order that will be sent from your supplier to the end customer or repackaged and sent to him through a private prep center.

The process of starting a business on Amazon is also simple:

1. Research of a product niche. Before you start selling, you need to conduct product analytics to evaluate the potential of your product and profitability in you selling it. It is better not to rely on your own feelings and use specialized software for this task. Otherwise, your expectations may not match reality and you will end up with a loss-making business instead of a profitable one.
2. Account registration. An account can be registered under both an individual and a legal entity. You will need to send the requested documents, select a tariff plan, enter bank and payment details. Account verification can be finished by sending you a mail by Amazon with a special code, by video verification or by requesting your utility bills and bank statements.
3. Listings Creation. After registration, the Amazon country zones where you can make your business will be opened to you. As of 2022, there are 20 of them. For each region you can create product listings with their full and short descriptions, images, and characteristics.
4. Advertising. Once your listings are created, you can advertise them using Amazon's set of tools. From PPC and banner advertising to creating special price offers for your products.

The process of creating an account on Amazon is not much different from creating an account on any marketplace, while allowing you to access the world's leading online retail marketplace.

If you use the PriceX.ai, then you will definitely have orders, because our service helps you to sell. And now we will tell you how to deliver products on Amazon.

Amazon has two options for this: FBA and FBM. Their choice depends on your business scheme, as well as the stage of your business. First, let's understand the terminology:

- FBM means Fulfillment by Merchant, so its delivery by the seller. If an order has been received with this type of delivery it must be sent either from your warehouse or a prep center (a pre-sale preparation warehouse where the shipment will be processed).

- FBA means Fulfillment by Amazon. This is a special program from the marketplace that will allow you to send products to its warehouse, and Amazon will process the delivery and customer service. In this case you will be charged with a storage fee which calls FBA fee.

How to choose?

If you are a new seller with a Private Label or Online Arbitrage business scheme it is recommended to send products to customers from your own warehouse or prep center in the beggining. This is due to the fact that at the time your business begins your products may have few sales and the FBA fee for its storage may consume all of your profits.

Over time, the demand will become clear, and you will be able to send the required monthly stock to FBA without the risk of incurring high storage costs. The advantage of working with FBA is not only in outsourcing delivery and storage, but also participation in various Amazon programs like Amazon Prime, which will also increase sales.

- If you are employing a Dropshipping model, then you need to deliver products from the supplier's warehouse or from the prep center, so it will be FBM by default. Some Dropshipping sellers try to bypass this algorithm and deliver directly from the marketplace where they buy, for example, from Ebay, however, most often this ends with blocking of the seller's account.

Selling on Amazon is like building a house. The stronger foundation means more durable house. The foundation of successful sales on Amazon is the right preparation for the process.

The first step is the choice of a product niche on the marketplace where you will sell. A lot of entrepreneurs stumble at this stage. PriceX.ai specialists can name their most common mistakes:

- Evaluation of a niche based on your own gut feeling instead of gathering data and statistics. Experienced sellers on other marketplaces often fall into this trap.
- Choosing a highly competitive category. Sometimes a seemingly empty niche is filled by sellers with high ratings and sales history, making it impossible to compete with them.
- Wrong costs calculation. All costs and payments are not taken into account when calculating the final price of the products. For example, some products may require additional certificates to apply and purchase

What to do and how to avoid it? The PriceX.ai team recommends:

- Use specialized software to find products that are unfilled niche. To search for products it's better to use services like Helium10, Jungle Scout and Keepa.
- Work with suppliers. Carefully read the terms of delivery and specify all additional costs when you work with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Keep track of expenses and predict the final price. Incorrect cost optimisation can lead to incorrect pricing, which can render you uncompetitive in the marketplace. If you started selling, connect our PriceX.ai to always sell at the best possible price.

https://www.axios.com/2022/08/10/amazon-lawsuit-fraud-fake-reviews

There are a lot of companies that provide fake product reviews for Amazon products. This allows unscrupulous sellers to increase the ratings of their products and mislead buyers.

Such actions can lead not only to the removal of the product, but also to the ban of the entire account without any possibility to restore it in future.

www.axios.com reports another lawsuit against a company that sold fake reviews:

“The lawsuit, filed in King County Superior Court, alleges that Trey King and his online business, AuctionSentinel.com, has been selling fake "verified feedback" to retailers, and posting reviews to "artificially inflate sellers” feedback ratings in the Amazon.com store."

"Defendants are actively deceiving Amazon's customers and tarnishing Amazon's brand for their own profit, as well as for the profit of dishonest sellers," the lawsuit alleges.

Among the services marketed on Auction Sentinel as of early Tuesday were "Amazon feedback" packages offering to "make real purchases on your Amazon account and turn them into 5-Star Positive Feedback."

The options ranged in price from a $300 "basic" package offering 10 reviews for a single store, to an $800 "enterprise" package for 100 reviews for six online stores.”
