The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is offering a 3-year PhD scholarship within BRIGHT Mission 2: Microbial Foods.
๐ฌ Research focus: Engineering food-safe microbial chassis strains, particularly Aspergillus and Yarrowia, to reduce food safety risks while supporting sustainable microbial food production.
The project combines:
โข Microbial genetics & strain engineering
โข CRISPR/homologous recombination
โข Fungal biotechnology
โข Fermentation & bioprocessing
โข Secondary metabolites & food safety
โข Analytical chemistry & AI-supported research
๐ Eligibility: Masterโs degree (120 ECTS) in microbiology, food science, molecular biology, synthetic biology, mycology or a related field.
