Investment in digital transformation is predicted to reach almost $7 trillion by 2023, and by 2022, 90% of large organisations will have adopted RPA in some form.

When you look at the stats, failure of projects simply isn’t an option - but as many as 30-50% of RPA implementations are still considered unsuccessful.

So how do organisations buck the trend?

We're setting the record straight, dispelling some common automation myths.

Next up... #2 RPA is too expensive

There’s a common misconception that an RPA solution will break the bank. Yes there's cost involved, but the financial benefits of deploying automation are huge, and ROI is fast.

RPA can do the manual, repetitive work of multiple employees, faster, more efficiently, and more accurately, resulting in significant cost-savings.

According to the London School of Economics, ROI from RPA ranges between 30 and 200 percent in the first 12 months. (Link to article in comments).

ROI is fast and is typically seen in less than a year. At Toca, our partners report an average return on investment of 30 days.

Next up in the Toca Talk series, we'll set the record straight, dispelling some common automation myths.

#1 Automation means the end of the human workforce

The first myth has been around a while and is one we're keen to dispel.

Automation is not designed to replace humans in the workplace. In fact, it's there to complement, enhance and augment the performance of the human workforce.

Automation frees employees from mundane, repetitive tasks which means that they can focus on creative, innovative and strategic tasks. The result? Empowered employees, who enjoy their work.

A recent survey of 300 senior executives by Forbes Insights and Kofax into ‘The state of Intelligent Automation’ found that 92 percent of organisations saw an improvement in employee satisfaction as a result of automation and RPA initiatives. (Link to download research in comments).

Automation is redefining jobs, not replacing them.

At the beginning of April, Toca's Rich Harrison decided to take on Run the Month in aid of Prostate Cancer UK

A self-confessed running newbie, Rich has pledged to run 50 miles in the month of April to raise money for an incredible charity. With just 6 miles left to run, Rich is well on-track to reach his fundraising target of £1000.

A great achievement, but that's not where it ends. Toca Founder and CEO, Mat Rule, has very generously offered to match Rich's fundraising efforts, contributing an additional £1000 to help him meet a target of £2000.
