✨Inspiration post! ✨ Again not my designs but some of the latest branding and packaging eye candy to get thinking about. I love pairing two themes, that on paper seem quite opposite - that juxtaposition of minimal clean design with an earthy/grounded/honest aesthetic creates an understandably beautiful partnership. Here are a few favourites I’ve seen recently that do a wonderful job at communicating this through labelling composition, photography, colour ways and font selection. It’s all about hitting that balance just right between each. Check them out and let me know if you agree! 🌻

Hi beautiful people! One of the most popular and best top tips! The refer to insert symbol; What a godsend. Looking to create a beautifully minimalist design? Yes me too! Use this symbol when you cannot fit all of the mandatory, fundamental and regulation based information on your primary and secondary cosmetic packaging. When you place this symbol your outer packaging and label this means to your consumer/customer that you’ll include a small flier, either as a hang tag around the neck of the bottle, or in the box with the product, and this flier will contain all of that information for them to find and easily access. What’s better is that you can potentially add in other languages for the multiple countries you’d like to enter and export into. There’s a bit more that goes into that particular part of the equation but it’s a good enter-point in thinking about exapnading your international audience. Happy designing!

Inspiration: The Bold Colour Edition.
Who else is over washed out baby pink? 🙋‍♀️
But I can see why it's so popular - designing with bold colours can be a scary direction to go in because you have to get them right; they're so playful and they demand a lot of attention - but to get it spot on perfect you've gotta be able to walk that line without tipping over into tacky and garish. The famous e-mark! That little ‘e’ you find next to a products weight, and usually on products from or in Europe. It tells the customers that this has been insured to contain no less than the weight that is displayed on the packaging. Note that it is not mandatory, however by using it you are declaring your compliance with the requirements under this directive and it means that you are not subject to further weights and measurement regulations in Europe, just make sure that your manufacturers comply with Directive 76/211/EEC. There is no need to use it if your fill weight is/or bellow 5g or a volume of/or bellow 5mL

Stunning new brand fresh off the press and out of the studio. More and more it’s about what you leave out rather than trying to include all the complicated colours, graphics, bells and whistles. Which is actually a lot harder than it might sound because whatever makes it to the final cut has to work a lot harder to express it all in fewer elements. SoLazy; a vegan self tanning product, modest and contemporary colour palette and hand crafted typography.
