Today, an overnight visit to Bexhill-on-Sea reminded me that slowing down isn’t falling behind.

It’s creating space to notice what God has been showing us all along.

Some of life’s greatest blessings aren’t achieved. They’re appreciated.

Marketing sounds easy when you’re not the one responsible for results.

“Just run ads.”
“Just go viral.”
“Just copy what’s working.”

Or my favorite:

“Why experiment? Just launch the winning campaign.”

That’s how most people think marketing works.

But that’s not reality.

Real marketing is slower, messier, and far more intentional.

It looks like this:

First, you experiment.
You test angles, messages, channels—most of it doesn’t work.

Then, you iterate.
You refine what shows signs of working. You adjust. You improve.

Then, and only then, you scale.
You put volume behind what’s proven.

That “results phase” everyone wants?

It only exists because someone did the hard work of testing first.

And this is where most businesses get stuck.

They try to skip the process.
They chase shortcuts.
They expect results without building the foundation.

But marketing doesn’t reward shortcuts.

It rewards consistency, testing, and ex*****on.

20% into 2026. Most people are already distracted.

Plans changed.
Energy dropped.

That’s exactly where most fall off.

I’ve seen this too many times.
It’s not the strategy.
It’s not the market.
It’s the lack of consistency.

The first 20% will never look impressive.
It’s messy. It’s slow. It tests discipline.

The next 80%?
That’s where results show up, but only for the ones who didn’t stop early.
