My submission for .norwich first exhibition ‘Art, Books, Exhibition’, where they asked the artists to reimagine their favourite book cover.
I had so much fun, both responding to this brief and being able to enjoy their opening night in Norwich ☺️💕✨
You can buy the limited edition A3 screen print for £50 directly from DNA’s website in the link in my bio.
For those interested, a little about the piece below..
“Hunter S Thompson’s 1971 Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas follows its protagonist, Raoul Duke, and his attorney on a drug fuelled journey through Las Vegas in search for the American dream while ruminating over the failed promises of the 1960's counterculture movement. The illustrations which sat alongside Fear and Loathing became an iconic part of the story's cult following due to Steadman’s ability to capture the mania of Thompsons writing.
The reimagined cover gives a nod to Steadman’s illustrations by the use harsh, sketchy lines, abstract forms and typography. The illustration focuses on Dukes face featuring his infamous bucket hat, aviator glasses and cigarette, referencing the film adaptions poster.”
