HEY! 👋 I’ve finally started (and completed!) a brief within the deadline. Yay!

As is obvious, I’m on a hiatus at the moment. Finding what I want to do creative wise. It definitely includes design and branding, but honing into what it is I want to do exactly, and what that will look like (trying for an job or keeping it freelance — or both if my frail body can handle it 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I can’t lie it’s been bloody amazing being off of here. I needed the digital detox. Thinking about engagement rates seeing clickbait Instagram posts one after the other was starting to fry my brain 🧠⚡️

This brief was so fun to do. Felt good to use my design brain, to focus and churn out a finished project.

I’m reducing my offerings 😱

This’ll allow me to focus on offerings I feel more excited for, like branding design and strategy and social media management.

If the Insta-Refresh sounds like something you’d like to have had, I will be working on bringing it back as a done-for-you workbook with all the tools you need to create your own Instagram audit and strategy.

I do love this service. It took me so long to put it together and I really agonised to make it the besttt it could be and it deserves a rebirth.

A person hired someone to impersonate them at a party because they didn't want to go 😂

I was so lost in my early 20s! 😥

I had dropped out of university. I had no idea of what to do next. And as a muslimah, I didn't feel as though there were many options.

Now almost at 28, here are 3 things I wish I knew (and didn't worrying so much about):

1. You have time ⏰

Allah is the planner of our lives. All the things you're in a hurry to complete or achieve will still be there if Allah wills you to have it. I got married at 25 after a long period of searching and feeling 'left behind'. Now, I know there was no need to feel that way, it genuinely happened at the perfect time alhamdulillah (my husband was NOT ready for me yet 😂).

2. Meeting new people isn't (that) scary 🤝

I always thought it was so hard to meet new people as an adult. It wasn't until I was firmly in my 20s that I made one of my closest friends (hey 🥰) Most people are open to having meaningful connections with other like-minded people. Be open too!

3. Confidence can always be built up 🧱

When I started my first teaching job, I was a MESS. I was genuinely scared of the kids because I had never had to stand in front of a crowd before AND be engaging enough for them to listen. It was a major character-building time for me as someone who was pretty shy as a kid. I didn't think I could improve. But I did. I even took another teaching job after that 😱

There are many other lessons, and I'm sure you have PLENTY too!
