Sometimes you have to step away from the work to let the creative brain breathe. After a short break to recharge and reset, I’m coming back with something a little special.

Every great story needs a beginning, and every studio needs a signature. I wanted to create an opening that captures the magic of what I am building—something that feels as big as the sky we fly in. ☁️✈️

I am thrilled to share the official CodeMyDreams signature intro! This will be the new heartbeat at the start of every trailer, teaser, and deep-dive video moving forward.

I’m incredibly proud of how this turned out. It’s more than just an animation; it’s a promise of the quality and storytelling coming your way in the Squawk Series.

I hope you like it as much as I do. Press play and enjoy. Feel free to let me know what you think! 🎬👇

Headline: 🔥 Nightmare and The Phoenix

Every developer knows that sudden, cold pit in your stomach when you hit the power button and... nothing happens. 🌑

After an incredibly productive night, I walked into the office with renewed vigour to keep the momentum going on the Squawk Series, only to find my laptop had decided to go on an indefinite strike. Four days of diagnostics, technical deep-dives, and a fair bit of sweating and cursing followed.

A huge shoutout to the technical department at PCSpecialist for their expert guidance. We had to go deep to revive the system:
✅ BIOS/UEFI Firmware Flash to resolve a critical boot-loop.
✅ Hard CMOS Clear & Static Power Discharge to reset the hardware handshakes.
✅ Full Internal Maintenance to ensure the "Phoenix" stays cool under the heavy load of MSFS development.

The biggest relief? Everything was backed up. No data lost, just a four-day battle with the hardware. 💻🛡️

The diagnostics are now green, the engines are humming, and Ixion is currently holding short of Runway 03 at Cranfield. We are ready for take-off clearance.

The momentum is back. Stay put—more is coming soon. ✈️

🕹️ The "Grind" just got a lot more fun.

In the world of development, the more you build, the more you must break. As the Squawk Series grows in complexity—with over 2,300 words of dialogue—the testing phase has become a massive part of the daily rhythm. It’s a "grind" in the truest sense of the word. 🛠️

To help get through the mountain of work, I recruited a new Chief of QA over the Christmas break—my 10-year-old son. 🧒✈️

While I’m deep in my thoughts imagining what other amazing things we can add to this world, he’s providing the ultimate stress test. He’s the perfect "End-User"—he doesn't care about the code; he cares if the story is fun and if the cockpit feels alive. If a trigger is wonky, he finds it in seconds!

We’re turning the grind into a family effort, polishing the experience to a high-gloss finish so that the final product doesn't just work; it shines. And I hope you will agree with me too when you see it.

We’re putting in the hours (and the "junior labor") now so that your flight to France is as smooth as butter. 🧈

🎙️ Chaos Log 8: More Than a Checklist—A Living Story
The cockpit is no longer a lonely place. ✈️❤️

In most flight sims, you’re lucky to get a robotic "Check" or a dry instruction from a default ATC engine that—let's be honest—usually breaks the immersion. In the Squawk Series, the cockpit finally has a heartbeat.

2,300 Words... and we haven’t even taxied yet. 📈 I’ve just finalized the script for the first 150 lines of dialogue. The counter hit over 2,300 words just covering the pre-flight checklists. To put that in perspective, that’s nearly half a full-length TV drama script before the wheels have even turned.

This is shaping to be a "Boutique" Narrative Experience. This isn’t a "click here, fly there" mod. What better way to immerse yourself in a story than to actually play it?

Through the relationship between Alex and Dan, I explore the "why" behind the aviation: ✅ You won't just check the landing gear lights; you'll hear Alex explain why those bulbs are your lifeline over the English Channel. ✅ You'll navigate playful banter about Waitrose wine alongside serious warnings about metal-on-metal engine damage.

I’m weaving technical mastery into a human story. It’s designed to make you feel like part of the crew, not just a flight simmer at a desk.

The Path Forward: The engines are humming, the banter is flowing, and the runway is calling. I hope this mission feels as alive to you as it does in my head. The dream is no longer silent—it’s loud, it’s human, and it’s ready for departure.

🎙️ Chaos Log 7: Engineering the Sound of Reality

Goodbye, robotic drones. Hello, immersion. 🎧

In the early days of the Squawk Series, I used basic Text-to-Speech for testing. It worked for logic, but it was a total immersion killer. I believe that to truly feel like you’re in the cockpit, the voices in your headset need weight, character, and environmental context.

The project has officially levelled up.

I’ve moved away from generic TTS and into high-fidelity AI voice synthesis with Eleven Labs. Our characters, Dan and Alex, now have dedicated, bespoke voices. But the "soul" of the voice is only the beginning...

Simulating the High-End Headset Experience The real magic happens in Adobe Audition. I’ve spent hours researching the acoustic profile of premium aviation headsets to recreate that specific auditory experience.

I’ve even implemented a dynamic audio system: ✅ Headset-Free: Pre-engine start dialogues are natural and "open-air." ✅ Intercom-Active: The characters physically put their headsets on before engine start, triggering a custom signal chain.

Using Parametric EQ, Controlled Distortion, and Ambient White Noise, I’ve built a filter that mimics the limited bandwidth and "comms grit" of a powered aviation mic.

Every line of dialogue for the stationary checklists is now fully recorded, processed, and live in the sim. Hearing Dan call out "Prop Area CLEAR!" with this level of fidelity brings a sense of presence to the Baron G58 that changes everything.

It’s a lot of work on the backend, but the difference is what sets this project apart. The dream is no longer silent.

✈️ Chaos Log 6: The Human Element & The First Smell of Avgas

I’ll be the first to admit it: in my book, a month without an update is unacceptable. But life has a way of making calls that you simply cannot ignore. Over the last few weeks, I’ve had to step back, recharge the batteries, and navigate some significant personal shifts.

But the engines haven’t stopped. ⚙️

While the updates were silent, the coding was not. I am thrilled to report that a massive milestone has been cleared: the stationary, on-the-ground checklists are now complete.

Every switch, every gauge, and every procedure has been thoroughly researched and checked for maximum immersion. I’m ensuring every action the characters take in the cockpit is anchored in real-world aviation standards before it ever hits the backend logic.

The result? The engines have been started. 🏎️💨

The systems are humming, the logic is holding, and we are standing on the threshold of that first, "oh-so-scary" call to ATC to ask for permission to taxi. The transition from a static model to a living, breathing aircraft—complete with the metaphorical smell of Avgas—is happening right now.

The first mission is almost off its wheels. Thank you for sticking with me through the silence. Life happens, but the dream doesn't stop.

Time to taxi. 🛫

🛠️ Chaos Log 5: Inside the Debugging Battlefield – Coding Realistic Checklists!
The realism of the Squawk Series doesn't start with takeoff—it starts in the cockpit! 👨‍💻 My focus this week is on making the Cockpit Checklists for the Baron G58 as deep and interactive as the sim will possibly allow.

I’m talking total engagement from pre-flight preparation right through to engine shutdown at parking.

The hard truth? The undocumented MSFS SDK makes this incredibly complicated. Debugging errors takes far longer than writing the code. I am fighting invisible logic every day to ensure these procedures are absolutely flawless, or that particular brown substance hits the fan!

I am fully committed to nailing every switch and procedure. Perfection is the only standard for this level of interactive aviation reality.

🤯 Chaos Log 4: The Story Grew TOO BIG - Introducing The Squawk Series Saga!
My simple idea for an Around-the-World flight in the Baron G58 completely exploded! What started as a small plot has naturally spiralled into a massive multi-character, multi-episode, multi-career world.

This is the story of Alex, his son Daniel (PPL certified and pursuing a career pilot path), and his daughter Faith.

The scope now includes:

Daniel's Path: Following his career into commercial or executive charter aviation.

Faith's Path: Her dedicated journey to become a helicopter pilot and joining a Search and Rescue (SAR) operations team.

The depth of my commitment is reflected in the planning: Episode 1 alone has grown to over 150 pages of storyline, dialogue, and fully interactive aviation checklists and it is still in it's infancy.

I am fully committed to these characters and their futures. Stay tuned to find out where Daniel and Faith take their careers in the air!

✈️ Chaos Log 3: Meet Ixion, The Aircraft With A Powerful Motto!
The Beechcraft Baron G58 isn't just a plane—it's the vehicle for the dream, and it needed a livery worthy of that commitment. I spent a week battling Blender, and the custom Ixion design is the result!

The name is a powerful anchor: Ixion was bound to an eternally revolving fiery wheel. For me, this aircraft represents the turning point—the means of breaking that cycle and finding ultimate freedom through flight.

The livery tells this exact story of transformation, right down to the meaningful inscription on the fuselage:

~~ before the man is made and wings are forged ~~
~~ the man must break into the fire gorged ~~

When you step into the Baron G58, you are stepping into an aircraft as important as the story itself.

Chaos Log 2: Inside The Dream Factory & Our First Technical Victory!
If this dream is going to be built, it requires a serious headquarters. I've officially moved into my dedicated workspace: The Dream Factory! This move is the physical manifestation of my absolute commitment.

This is the hardware powering the Squawk Series reality:

The Engine: i9 13th Gen CPU and RTX 4080 GPU

The View: Samsung 34" Ultrawide + 2x 15" touchscreens (PFD/MFD)

The Controls: Full Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie setup.

The Real Win: The MSFS SDK Battle!
For weeks, the fight with the undocumented MSFS SDK was relentless. But the breakthrough has finally arrived: the Mission Backbone Structure is established and set as a template! I’ve confirmed mission visibility for Chapter 1 (UK Leg 1 & 2). The technical foundation is now solid, and the path to Chapter 1 is clear.
