As Labour Party Prime Minister of Britain Keir Starmer resigns today, here we share a recent Declassified UK report on how he failed to deliver an inquiry on UK collusion with India for the 1984 Sikh genocide, as promised to Sikh groups before his 2024 election.

The inquiry is one of several Sikh issues Starmer is criticised about, including an accusation of taking the situation backwards and ignoring India's anti-Sikh transnational repression. Read more via Baaz: https://www.baaznews.org/p/jallianwala-bagh-uk-apology-sikhs?utm_medium=email

Sikh groups across the globe have been honouring Shaheed (martyr) Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar, three-years since the respected activist was assassinated by the Indian State this week (18th June) in Surrey (BC, Canada). His murder exposed India's anti-Sikh transnational agenda.

A trial for four Indian nationals in Canada regarding Nijjar's murder continues, with community presence at every hearing. However, community groups insist India must be held accountable too, due to a well documented government-criminal nexus.

Yesterday The Sikh Press Association amplified a statement from a UK community organisation on a violent incident involving a Sikh man in Smethwick (Midlands, UK).

The statement suggested the incident was "anti-Sikh hate". However, this has since been rescinded. The incident remains a horrific assault which saw a Sikh man in his 50s allegedly set alight (14.06.26), with a 17-year-old arrested in relation.

Sevadaars (selfless servants) supporting the victim advocate police sentiment that it was not a hate crime. Our previous post has been deleted.

"Sikh communities mobilised collective male protection and forced the gangs to withdraw"

A new report on "R**e Gangs" (also known as "grooming gangs") details British Sikh experiences, with grassroots Sikh representatives amongst those consulted during the crowdfunded inquiry.

The inquiry, which came about from nearly £800k of crowdfunding, is a project of Restore Party leader MP Rupert Lowe, who is also calling for a ban on the kirpan (small sword mandatory for initiated Sikhs).

The report's recommendations include denaturalisation of UK citizens.

The Lowe inquiry is separate from internal audits being carried out under the Labour government to address failings in previous administrations regarding the gangs. A national Sikh inquiry is also calling for submissions from Sikhs on the issue, to supplement national efforts.

"People tell me I am the first Sikh footballer at the World Cup...To be the first is very special"

Congratulations to Sarpreet Singh, who spoke about "responsibility and pride" as the first Sikh player in World Cup history, before his debut yesterday (15.06.26) for New Zealand.

The landmark achievement by born-and-raised Kiwi Singh (of Punjabi background) underlines wider progress of Sikh athletes in sport, as part of a mass conscious grassroots effort to revive traditions of fitness and competition.

Three-years ago today, respected Khalistan (free Sikh homeland) figure Shaheed (martyr) Bhai Avtar Singh Khanda died in what Indian media pundits report was murder via poisoning by the Narendra Modi government.

Despite ample evidence Khanda was a target, no UK investigation into his death was opened. Authorities also refused to allow independent tests on his body.

Khanda died during India's well-documented anti-Sikh transnational assassination campaign, which included shooting Shaheed Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey (BC, Canada) days later.

For the second week running, Sikhs from across the UK gathered en masse, as over 1000 people attended the annual June Sikh Youth UK Shaheedi tournament in Willenhall (Midlands) on Saturday, marking the 1984 Sikh genocide remembrance period.

The event saw Sikh organisations come together to host a family friendly day of sport, honouring the victims of and also the resistance against India's state sponsored attack on the community, an issue still relevant today.
