Havering and District Amateur Radio Club

Havering and District Amateur Radio Club We are the Havering and District Amateur Club. We are based at the Fairkytes Arts Centre, 51 Billet Lane. Hornchurch, RM11 1AX. We are located on the first floor.

We meet each Wednesday (8 pm) at Fairkytes Art Centre, Hornchurch. Fairkytes is located opposite the Queen’s theatre. Feel free to come along and say hi! The Havering DARC was founded in 1965 by the now long standing treasurer Oliver Tillett. Since then we have operated the Callsign G4HRC and G8HRC to name a few of our many callsigns. In just a short time the Havering DARC grew in strength and mem

bers until the members demanded that the club meet more frequently and thus the fortnightly meetings become weekly. Since those early days Oliver has steered the good ship HDARC in to the 21st century and now its presence in known on the Internet in the form of digital media. Club took part in Airfields On The Air on 11th 12th April 2026 at Hornchurch Country Park (Former Airfield) Made many contacts on air on both HF and VHF. Also during the event a classic car turned up in the car park.

Last meeting we showed a DVD The Secret Wireless War Beyond Bletchley Park Part 1. Our next meeting 20th November 8pm we will be showing part 2 of The Secret Wireless War Documentary Beyond Bletchley Park.
The viewing is approximately 1 hour.
To avoid interruptions, please arrive at least 10 minutes early to find a seat and settle down.
