Was great to chat to so many people today at Albury Produce Show. Thank you to all the customers and future customers who popped in.
There was a great turnout in the sunshine and some amazing entries in the various produce and craft categories. Congratulations to the winners.

Our founder, the late Walter Willcox, would have been pleased to hear this. We couldn't have done it without the support of B4RN - Broadband for the Rural North Ltd.

More than 600 homes are now supplied by the Broadband for Surrey Hills group.

Our Chairman, Anthony Townsend and Revd. Tim Heaney, Rector of Albury Parish Church- that benefits from a free B4SH connection-spoke to BBC Radio Surrey 's James Cannon breakfast show about B4SH's work to improve rural broadband. Tune in at 07:10 on Tuesday 3rd June to listen.

A short video of the Chancellor's recent visit to Broadband for Surrey Hills. It was great to meet him and have the opportunity to tell him more about our full fibre network.

On Friday April 12th Chancellor Jeremy Hunt MP visited us at our new office in Albury, near Guildford. He met some of the volunteers and others that have helped make B4SH such a success in delivering full-fibre gigabit broadband to the residents and businesses in the very hard to reach areas of the Surrey Hills. Jeremy learned about the unique nature of B4SH as a not-for-profit community enterprise run by volunteers, saw the map of B4SH’s extensive network in the Surrey Hills, and was able to see first hand the gigabit technology that powers the network. He was especially interested in B4SH’s funding model, particularly the impact of the withdrawal of Social Investment Tax Relief (SITR), and the importance of the gigabit voucher scheme administered by DCMS.

As part of the visit Jeremy cut a ribbon to open the new B4SH office.

Commenting on the visit B4SH director Angus Denny said, “It was a great pleasure to welcome Jeremy to B4SH and show him the success of the volunteer-led model in delivering world-class gigabit broadband to areas of the Surrey Hills ignored by commercial providers”.

Exciting job opportunity: Surrey Hills Broadband Outdoor Installation Team Leader.

B4SH (Broadband for Surrey Hills) has an exciting role for someone who loves working outdoors. B4SH is a community run rural fibre installation company working throughout the central Surrey Hills area. We have connected hard to reach rural residential and business customers with exceptional demand to connect many more!

We need a mature individual with a broad skill set. Tasks range from the use of a tractor to install ducting, the use of a digger trench through to garden digs using hand tools. This is a physical role and all applicants must be fit and healthy. Communication with landowners, farmers and our customers is an important factor of the job. Self-reliance and a strong work ethic are vital.

You may be from the agricultural sector and seeking a new direction. B4SH is a small but fun organisation bringing connectivity to the rural community. Be part of the next stage of our continued rollout.
