Making a quilt always gets me thinking about folks that introduced me to everything I’ve learned about making these perfect specimens of form + function.

On my mind today are Jacquie as I use my walking foot to quilt and Susanne as I scramble to act on a last-minute idea. Love them both 💛

Wayback Wednesday // I didn't know what the plant was when I stepped into the greens to toss the quilt over the wall for the perfect shot—then quickly discovered what stinging nettle is! I wrapped plastic bags around my ankles so I could continue styling for the shot, but yikes! I had some itchy, burny skin for a while. Anything for the shot, I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

I’m in love with this quilt and the idea to over-dye a scrap quilt in order to pull together the color story.

This composition and the color result from the dye is so reminiscent of a Paul Klee painting. I just love it. Well done
