Can you build an amazing website? Can you produce high quality video content? Can you produce written content that is engaging? Can you manage social media campaigns on each of the available platforms that make people look? Are you enthusiastic? Can you work in a team? Most importantly do you have the imagination to take the most boring subject in the world and make people want to look at it.
Subconscious Incompetence.
This is me when I was a wise man. (I'm the one who looks like he is wearing a garland of white flowers in my hair) Thank you Mum. It was a great place to be. I think that most people remember this state of being. It's the start of a journey that we make many times in our life. It's called Sub-conscious incompetence, commonly known as blissful ignorance. Life was good then. The only thing to worry about was where is my Space Hopper, what's for lunch, and can I get to the bucket in the sand pit first at playtime.
It's a wonderful state of being. It's that lovely time before you know that there is a problem or that you don't know that you can't do something.
Conscious Incompetence
Unfortunately the next stage on the journey is conscious incompetence. The day that you realise that there is a problem or that you can't do something. Not such a great place! That normally means that we have to practise, study, repeat, train and get out of our comfort zone until we know that we can handle the problem or task. I came through this journey many times and failed many times. My daughter, who is five, is amazed at my ability to recite my times tables. She is equally unimpressed at my inability to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on her keyboard.
This is a tough time, and the hurdle at which most people fall at.
Conscious Competence
If we are dedicated to the cause we sometimes end up here. This is where we can execute a task, but only if we concentrate and think constantly about what we are doing . This is also a very difficult and tiring place to be and is as uncomfortable as conscious incompetence, the only difference is that the results are better.
Still a really tough place to be.
Subconscious Competence.
For the few that are dedicated enough to do the time consuming and difficult tasks of learning, practise, and training. The ultimate destination of subconscious competence is the blissful destination. This is when you can do your job brilliantly without having to think about it.
When you have arrived at your destination we have a very special word that we use to describe you. You are called an Expert, then you truly have value.
The Pay Off.
We, at Red Gorilla are experts in Business Utilities. It might not sound like the most exciting thing to be an expert in, but through many years we have become experts in our field. We make a very proud boast and it is this.
If you own a small to medium sized business and you are not one of our customers. Then you are an idiot or you have never heard of us.
Please don't be upset at that proclamation if you already know us, because it is probably our fault.
I have never spent thirty minutes with somebody who, at the conclusion of our meeting didn't become one of our customers. It's simple most people run their business in a state of subconscious incompetence when it comes to their utility accounts. It's a real case of smoke and mirrors perpetrated by nearly all of the utility suppliers. Once I lift the veil, expose the extent of their risk and the person that I am speaking to understands the reality of their situation, there is only one sensible decision. Let the Gorilla's do it, take a deep breath and carry on being an expert at what ever they do. While the utility experts look after their utility accounts.
Simple isn't it.
Our problem is that we are not Expert at running a website, we are not expert at maximising our Social Media Platforms, We are not experts at running email campaigns and we have only ever made one video in our entire existence.
We are looking for a person with enthusiasm, know how, energy and expertise in this field to help us. We want to take our message to the business community in every format available to us.
The person that is selected, will need to be able to work from our office Near Portsmouth. They will need to work hard, have a good command of both written and spoken English, be competent in the creation of websites and it's content. We need someone who can create video content and written content, is able to deliver that content to the right people. By using all available social media channels, our website, emails and video content.
The most important thing is conveying the right message to the right people whilst staying true to our ethos of honesty and good ethical practise.
Who fits the bill ?
No-one is too old, no-one is too young, no one is too black, no one is too white, no-one is too boy, no-one is too girl, no-one is too thin or too fat. We just want the best, most enthusiastic expert who has the ability to get our message to the people that need our help.
