It’s been a really busy couple of days at one of my customers places of work. They purchased the adjoining unit and wanted me to extend their existing network into the new place for them.

So here’s what was achieved:

Day 1: Plan, fit cabinet and first fix wiring including cutting conduit etc.

Day 2: Patch out sockets and patch panel, remove old temporary cabling that the customer had installed.
Test all the wiring and reconnect all office devices and finally installing a new AX3000 access point to bring whole building wifi in.

It’s really helped them tidy up so much excess wiring creating a cleaner office space too.

If you have any networking needs, please give us a call to discuss.

So that’s a wrap for this year.
A quick install of a data cabinet at an existing site to tidy things up and connect some access points up to have cloud control making life easier for remote updates.

We’re off now until the New Year. Thanks for all your support in 2025, here’s to 2026.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.

Good morning!

I appreciate I haven’t posted in quite some time, mainly due to the fact I had nothing to post.
I’ve completed a little wireless CCTV install for a repeat customer and I’ve a networking job planned in the next couple of weeks to complete for one of my first long term customers.

I’m still available for PC and Laptop repairs also.

It’s too early for me to mention Christmas hours, but needless to say I will be closed from 22nd December to the 5th January 2026.

In the meantime, thank you all for your support and custom over the last year. It’s really appreciated.

Best wishes,
Dodge

Hey! I hope this finds everyone well. It’s been fairly quiet here recently with just a few off the cuff jobs.

I wanted to give an update on where the business is right now - we are fast approaching the end of year 12 of trading and it’s been great but, I’ve had a chance to re-evaluate what I will be offering going forward.

For new customers, I will no longer be offering small business support including the setup and management of Microsoft 365 products and services, servers or hosting.

My current and long-term small businesses remain unaffected.

I will be concentrating on what I do best and that is PC and laptop repairs as well as wired / wireless network install and commissioning and data transfer/recovery.

I can still build bespoke PC’s but these will require a 50% deposit to cover hardware purchases prior to build.

The rest remains unchanged but I’ll be reviewing this dependent on demand. I just can’t compete with some of the other local providers who can do all the fun stuff with mobile and tablet repairs, that’s just not within my gift.

Sorry for war and peace, but was overdue an update. The website will be updated when I have time.

In the meantime, thanks for your continued support.

Best wishes,
Roger

So we headed back to our last networking customer today installing some extra Cat6 sockets, converting the last of the Cat5 that was in the house and converted the ancient 1980’s BT NTE into a fully filtered NTE 5c - phew!

My customer was so pleased with the UniFi access point installed on the first run, he asked for a second to be installed in his office which is a bit of a faraday cage.

Although the rack and patch panel was hidden away, I still wanted to make it nice and tidy. This time I’ve got some pictures.

It’s always nice to receive positive feedback after a days graft. I’m only a small business but I do my best to make sure the work I do is to a high standard and that ultimately my customer is happy.

Thanks for the great review Tom!

It’s been a long day today - today’s job was to patch in and link up a complete wired home networking setup, including a POE switch and a wifi access point.

Many sockets installed, wiring hidden, tidying up lots of mess as I went, a bit of cursing when having to rewire a socket or the patch panel but overall as jobs went, a very happy customer.

No photos of this one as it’s a private premises and out of respect for the owner.

Phew! I need a lie down now 🤣

Lots of stairs, lots of steps and achy knees too 🤣

Drop me a line at [email protected] if you need some help with networking at home or in the office.

Yesterday I was installing an access point in a friends loft yesterday for extended WiFi coverage (brick built chalet bungalow and all internal walls brick meaning WiFi coverage really patchy)

The job was made easier somewhat with pass through RJ45 connectors, although I had left my glasses on the ground floor! Coupled with some (lots!) heat and a very low pitch roof, it made it that more “challenging” 🤣

See if you can spot the mistake in the colours too - I did before I crimped the plug 😱

After the install, coverage was greatly increased meaning they could also use WiFi calling on their phone in the garden and their smart TV actually worked without buffering.

Sadly as they are in a rural area, the best speeds on VDSL were 4mb down and 0.5mb up and no chance of FTTP (fibre to the premises) for some time.

No after pictures as I forgot to take some, but here’s some while I was struggling in said loft area! 🥵
