Team UNA visit India 🇮🇳

We are delighted to share that we are in New Delhi for the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon.

It was a certainly a mission to get here (good old delays), but we’ve made it now and we’re ready to go!

For years, companies have decided what your tech can and can’t do.⁣

We think that the future looks different.⁣
⁣
We started UNA because we grew tired of watches that are sealed shut.⁣
⁣
You can’t open them. You can’t fix them. You can’t change them.⁣
⁣
So we built one you can repair, and then we opened up the software too.⁣
⁣
Every sensor on UNA, from the GPS and heart rate to the barometer, accelerometer, and compass, is accessible via our SDK. ⁣
⁣
Anyone can build on it. Because if you own something, you should get to decide what it does and doesn’t do.⁣
⁣
There are over 60 apps on our store, with more landing every week, and we are so grateful to all of the developers in our community who are some of UNA’s biggest advocates.⁣

On that note... Our App Store Challenge is live and entries close on the 30th of October. ⁣

Every home has one.

The drawer of doomed tech that isn’t quite dead.

The phone with the cracked screen. The earbuds where one side gave up. The old watch with a battery that won’t last a day anymore - sitting next to a cable nobody can identify.

Here’s the thing. Most of it isn’t really broken.

It’s one part. A battery. A screen. One earbud.

But when you can’t open it, one worn part is enough to put the whole thing into retirement.

That’s why we built UNA the way we did. Battery, display, even the core. Six modules, all swappable with one Torx screwdriver.

When a part wears out, you replace the part. Not the watch.

Build the wildest app you can for UNA and win a cash prize.

Our first app development competition is now live.

The brief is simple: make the most unique, interesting, out-there app you can using our SDK.

You don’t even need to own an UNA Watch to take part, as you can still build and show off your app in our simulator, or on your wrist if you’ve got one.

PRIZES
1st: £500
2nd: £250
3rd: £100

Plus 3 UNA watches given away at random to entrants.

JUDGING
The UNA team scores every app out of 10 on usefulness, originality and UX/UI design. 30 points max.

KEY DATES
Deadline: 30th October, 4pm UK time
Winners announced: 9th November, 4pm UK time
