Apple's annual update cycle begins today with the launch of new software iOS 9.
Servers may be busy initially, so if you can wait, you're more likely to successfully complete the big download.
New software has bugs, and some prefer to wait several days until users report issues. We do not have the patience to do this!
You can download the update directly to your device or to iTunes. We've found iTunes updates more reliable on launch day.
Free space is often an issue with updates. This time, your third party (app store) apps will be deleted to make room. You can re-download them through the App Store (via the 'Purchased' tab) but we recommend clearing some space in advance (backup and delete old photos, remove unused apps and extra music/videos).
