𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘 🔥
Let's put this into perspective - ENIAC weighed as much as 8 elephants and was less powerful than a basic calculator you can buy for $5 today! 🐘💻
Built by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at the University of Pennsylvania, ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was originally designed to calculate artillery firing tables for the US Army.
It took a team of six women mathematicians - Betty Snyder, Marlyn Wescoff, Ruth Lichterman, Kay McNulty, Fran Bilas, and Adele Goldstine to program this monster machine by physically rewiring it for each new task! 👩💻
So, let's check today's comparison which is staggering:
🔸ENIAC: 50 tons, entire room
🔸Your phone: 200 grams, fits in your palm
➖ENIAC: 5,000 operations/second
➖Modern processor: BILLIONS/second
This incredible journey reminds us that every groundbreaking innovation starts somewhere.
What seems impossible today might be sitting in your pocket tomorrow!
