In continuation of International Women's Day, here is what our Admin & Marketing Assistant, Ebony, had to say about what IWD means to her.
Today is a day that makes me feel very conflicted. On one hand, it is a day of celebration- a powerful reminder of the incredible contributions women make to our society, the progress we’ve fought for, the walls we’ve broken, and the achievements that deserve recognition. It’s a moment to acknowledge how far we’ve come.
But it’s also a day to recognize how much still needs to change. Women remain underrepresented in leadership, the gender pay gap persists, and issues of safety and equality are still very real challenges worldwide. One day of recognition doesn’t erase the everyday struggles many women continue to face.
One day is not enough. Women shouldn't need one day. Every day should be International Women's Day.
So while we celebrate the successes, let’s also use today as a call to action. What more can we do to ensure that progress doesn’t stop here? How can we create a future where equality isn’t something we mark once a year, but something truly embedded in our workplaces, communities, and society as a whole?
