Collaborating with artists develops my thinking and printmaking practice. DG03 Collective + Guests showed Human:being at Copeland Gallery from 20 to 23 August.
Tzion Essel has been making prints with Lucid since his MA and introduced us to Crispin Day, formerly Professor of Clinical Psychology at King’s College London and now undertaking doctoral research in photography at University of the Arts London.
Tzion and Crispin describe the collaboration best:
“At the time of the MA, everything was last minute. I wasn’t sure on how I wanted to display my works and in what format. Since we worked together initially for the MA grad exhibition, I’ve always come back to Lucid as they helped answer those questions and far in advance to make sure everything was prepared on time and to my liking. They’ve helped me think of my work with print in mind, and it is now the final part of the creative process for me.” Tzion Essel.
“I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted to show the images I initially shared with Denise. But oh how this changed over the remarkable journey we undertook together. A key aspect of this was Denise’s sheer belief and generous enjoyment of my work underpinned by her deep knowledge, extraordinary expertise and sparkling creativity.
