When a computer Company looks after your kit and wiring remotely this is what happens to the wiring cabinet, the one they never come out to eye-ball as they don't have any site staff...then Portel engineers have to tackle the mess before we can fit VoIP phones. Welcome to Monday morning !

I've finally grabbed a few minutes to update you all on whats been happening, its been a bit manic with several jobs all confirming at the same time, including a 40 extension school with limited CAT5 (fancy that !) so we engineers have been a busy bunch building the VoIP phone systems, getting them installed and then fitting out the new phones, programming 40 odd phones is no easy task, also unboxing them all !. That plus a Charity, Mortgage Advisors and another school, so yes we are busy installing and also fixing....photo is an older Yealink that needed 'fettling' its all good to go now though !

Unless you live under a rock you will already know analogue and ISDN lines are ceasing, there are a few options, either swap over to VoIP or have your existing system converted to work via Broadband not phone lines....we came up with another solution too....what do you think ??

Downloading Firmware: I seem to spend my life staring at phones or computers that decide they cannot live without the latest firmware or software .....then again I guess its nice to know your old phone is running the latest software available !

All this windy weather has played havoc with businesses, lots suffering with mini-power-outs which isn't good for computers or VoIP phones. Usually people add an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) so small outages are not an issue....until their batteries need replacing Don't throw your failed UPS away, Portel have racks of replacement batteries, its a service we offer to any business even non-Portel customers, check out these dusty beauties !

Its not often we send out phones with bluetooth headsets but when we do first they are all tested and set up so the client only needs to plug in and go knowing everything will work out of the box. Not a lot of people know but you can power some headsets via the LibertyVoIP handset which is pretty handy at times

Bit of a busy day fitting out a new site with VoIP handsets and DECT's chose our LibertyVoIP desk phones and Yealink cordless as they are the best. All the boxes are marked so we know which floor they are for, this is the ground floor box, just charging up the DECTs before deployment ...but first a cuppa !

Its definitely been a day of 'two-halves' Sorting out two new VoIP installations in the morning then following up on Networking leads in the Afternoon. We are seeing a huge ground-swell in VoIP enquiries as businesses realise they have to move over to VoIP or lose their 01, 02, 03 phone numbers once BT switch off the old legacy phone lines. Our Libertyvoip desk phones fitted with HD handsets are by far the most popular item being ordered.

Started the day with zero faults reported which for a busy man isn't a good thing but I guess our systems are built to last so a bit of thumb twiddling followed by a revamp of the stock room & tidy up the work bench's If it had been snowing we engineers would all be on the road!
So how about a nice smart business VoIP cordless for your home office then ??
