I just wanted to say that it is with regret that I will be closing down Repaired At Your Door as of the end of this week and will only be doing this on a limited part time basis in the evenings and weekends - more likely from home though. An iPad charging port replacement has to be soldered on. Thanks a lot Apple! At least they haven't done that to the iPhones... yet.

An iPad CPU reball to recover all data! This customer was told their iPad was "not fixable" by another store as it didn't even turn on. Granted it's not an easy repair but worth it especially if you are hoping to recover your data. It's a shame some repair centres don't give advice where to go to get a second opinion if they aren't able to perform certain repairs.

A customer unfortunately tried to clean their iPhone Xs Max charging port with something metallic which caused the logic board to "short" resulting in a dead phone. 😢📵
I found the suspect, replaced it and restored the phone back to full functionality. 👌
The moral is, please don't clean charging ports with something metallic.
If you are going to do it yourself, a wooden tooth pic is a safer option but also be careful not to bend any pins!

This iPhone 8 wasn't showing any sign of life.
I located and replaced one blown capacitor on the logic board to bring the phone back to complete working order.
A tiny component like this can be the difference between losing or keeping all the data on an iPhone, Macbook or iPad.
Even if you have been told its not repairable, it's always good idea to get a second opinion!

Have you been told you have a completely dead iPhone, Macbook or iPad? That's not necessarily the case even if someone has replaced the usual battery and/or charging port suspects.
Heat will radiate through a shorted circuit so freeze spay can be used to discover the culprit.
I replaced the shorted capacitor and kapow the phone is back to life and saved from landfill!

Macbook saved! A previous company deemed it as not repairable. After thorough microscopic investigation, I found corrosive damage around a vital circuit. I removed the integrated circuit (IC), freshened up the solder and presto, it's now a fully operational Macbook with all data present!

Is your iPad charging slowly or not at all? Please don't let anyone tell you that it can't be repaired!
It is not always the charging port or battery to blame but rather a fairly common motherboard failure.
I removed the tiny faulty integrated circuit (IC) then replaced it with a new one and the iPad is back to life and charging as it should with no data loss!
