A contractor once called me from the site, asking if the lighting design we'd discussed the day before was approved.
I remembered the conversation clearly. The consultant had proposed a change. The client seemed fine with it.
But when I tried to actually confirm it - I couldn't.
Some of it was in the project group. Some of it was a private message. The drawing had been shared separately.
I scrolled through dozens of messages before I found it, buried in the middle of an unrelated thread.
That moment stuck with me, because it wasn't unusual. It was routine.
Modern teams communicate through messaging. But messaging apps were never built to track the work behind the conversation.
The chat remembers everything you said. It's terrible at telling you what you decided.
That gap is what got me thinking about collaboration differently and eventually led to a concept I call Work Tracking Messaging.
