From tomorrow, 1 October, the Energy Price Cap is increasing, with the typical household figure rising by around 3.6%. With household energy costs remaining high, making better use of the energy you already generate matters.

If you have solar PV, Solar iBoost+ helps you use suitable surplus solar electricity at home by automatically diverting it to your immersion heater to heat your water.

A great result from Solar iBoost.

By using over 1,500kWh of excess solar energy to heat their hot water, this customer could have avoided around £375 in electricity costs, based on an electricity rate of 25p/kWh.

Instead of sending excess solar energy back to the grid, Solar iBoost puts it to good use in the home.

At Marlec, we design smart energy solutions like the Solar iBoost+ and Heat Pump Interface to help households maximise the value of their renewable energy systems.

Working alongside UK Cylinders, their PV Priority Heat Pump cylinders are factory-fitted and pre-wired with our Solar iBoost+ and Heat Pump Interface, creating a fully integrated solution that maximises “free” hot water from solar PV. The system is designed to work independently and efficiently, without conflict.

The result is greater solar self-consumption, improved efficiency, and lower energy costs.

We’re really pleased to share that we’ve been shortlisted for Collaboration of the Year (The South) at the Unlock Net Zero Awards 2026, alongside our partners at Fairhive Homes.

This recognition is for our work together on the rollout of the Solar iBoost HPI across several Fairhive properties. It’s now being installed as part of wider energy-efficiency upgrades, particularly in homes with water cylinders and air-source heat pumps.

Working closely with Fairhive, the Solar iBoost HPI helps residents make better use of their solar energy, improve efficiency, and reduce energy costs, especially where heat pump systems are in place.

It’s great to see the technology now being used more widely, supporting both sustainability goals and real savings for residents through strong collaboration throughout the project.

Proud to be part of it, and congratulations to all the other finalists.

Perfect time to get more from your solar setup ☀️

Longer days mean surplus energy from your solar panels. Don’t export it, use it. A solar iBoost diverts extra power straight into heating your water.

If you have a single immersion, pairing it with a heat pump + solar iBoost heat pump interface boosts whole-home efficiency and helps cut energy use and bills year-round.
