Civils Manager

Fibre Tec Solutions is a leading provider of telecoms and digital infrastructure, building and installing high-speed broadband
networks to help connect businesses and residents with full-fibre internet.

With depots in Creswell, Bolsover and Dumfries, we are a leading contractor for telecoms and internet providers such as Virgin Media and Openreach – and carry out a range of projects across Yorkshire, Midlands and in Dumfries and Galloway.

You must have a very strong fibre, PIA (overhead and underground) and cable background together with experience managing field operational teams in an FTTP delivery environment.

As a Civils Manager you are responsible for the receipt and delivery of all client work orders across the project.
You will support and drive the roll out of the Network expansion, while developing the operational teams to ensure targets are met, while maintaining contract performance and quality standards.

The main duties include but are not limited to:
· Responsible for overseeing Supervisors and Civils Teams involved in high volume utility projects including excavation and reinstatement
· Ensure that all staff under supervision are competent, fully trained, are aware of all requirements and have been fully approved, appraised and / or inducted before starting on site
· Monitor work to ensure streetwork permits and client timescales are met
· Liaising with Local Authorities and Clients, carrying out site meetings with representatives to discuss works, permit conditions and agree Traffic Management requirements
· Carrying out audits to ensure that work sites meet NRSWA and Health & Safety standards
· Ensure all productivity targets are achieved
· Ensure that all work is carried out safely and to adequate standards as stated in the contract specification
· Review and closure of all corrective actions / improvement actions raised against works
· Ensure all completed works documentation and as-builts drawings are completed

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills
and experience:
Previous experience managing Supervisors on high volume utility civils and reinstatement works
NRSWA Supervisor accreditation with good knowledge of
the New Roads and Streetworks Act
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Telecoms and FTTP
Networks
Experience in managing field operational teams in an
FTTP delivery environment.
Strong skills in client management, planning and
resource management.
Good working knowledge of work management systems and
Microsoft Office
NRSWA Accreditation (Desirable)
Well organised and professional.

Successful applicants will have a history of supervising Telecoms and should be NRSWA qualified. You will also need to be highly self-motivated with the passion and drive to succeed, as well as an excellent communicator with the ability to negotiate outcomes that mitigate project risks.
You will also need.
Fibre Telecoms Network Build experience (VM and PIA knowledge desirable)
Experience of managing contracted engineering works and civils.
Knowledge of Blown and Traditional Cable installation techniques
An understanding of method statements and risk assessments
Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
An understanding of the New Roads & Street works Act 1991 (NRSWA)
A full driving licence as company vehicle will be provided

To that end we are now looking for the following accredited engineers (but training can be offered to the right candidates) :-
SPINE CREWS.
TRR CREWS.
SPLICING Engineers.
OH/UG PON Build Engineers.

All on a subcontractor basis but we would consider PAYE for the right candidates
