Dear all,

As the year is closing to an end and most of you are likely waiting for news about the Tornado development, we at AviaStorm are proud to announce that the DCS: Tornado module will be powered by Heatblur Simulations’ proprietary ANVIL Technology. This includes the component based simulation framework that powers Heatblur’s F-4E Phantom II and their upcoming modules for DCS World, as well as the JESTER 2.0 WSO-AI.

Heatblur‘s long years of outstanding experience in developing modules for DCS World - and their track record for innovation within the flight sim world - made this partnership a perfect match for our development team and project. Not only will it allow us to provide a module of the highest quality and standards that we think you all deserve, but it will also enable those of you, who have flown the F-4E, to step into the DCS: Tornado and be greeted with familiar elements that you have come to know and love while still keeping the project in AviaStorm's hands.

Crucially, the support from Heatblur and the use of their ANVIL technology will also allow us to significantly advance the development schedule for the Tornado - as we of course wish nothing more than to have you all experience it as soon as possible.
We are thrilled that we are finally able to share this incredible news with you. We look forward to keeping you all updated as we forge ahead on this exciting partnership with one of the premier developers in DCS

Your AviaStorm team!

Happy new year, leaving 2024 in the rear view mirror and onwards to 2025!

On this day of August 14th 1974 the Tornado made it's first flight from Manching in Germany. Crewed by Paul Millett and Nils Meister the Panavia Tornado first took off at 17:21 with the flight lasting 33 minutes. This marked the start of one of the most successful multinational fighter jet programs of the cold war.

We are very excited to be bringing this iconic aircraft to DCS, please join us on discord for more news to come.

Dear DCS Community, Dear Tornado Heads,

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering love and support and show you some early WIP Pilot Renderings.

Your enthusiasm and dedication have been the driving forces behind our journey, and for that, we are deeply thankful.

This past year has been one of organic growth for us. We are now at a stage where our team is well-equipped and ready to face the exciting challenges that lie ahead.

On the technical front, our Flight Model has seen significant progress. The work on the Flight Control System (FCS), including the Command Stability Augmentation System (CSAS), commenced in mid-2023.

This involves the use of intricate diagrams with numerical values for nearly every component, such as the lead-lag compensators, ensuring an extremely accurate simulation of the FCS which should translate to lots of fun flying the iconic swing-wing machine.

Looking forward to 2024, we are excited about several developments:

50 Years of Tornado: As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Tornado in 2024, expect more frequent updates and announcements from us. We have several special things planned for this milestone year.

RECCE Pod Integration: One of our key focuses is on integrating the RECCE Pod and its footage into DCS. Our goal is to achieve the highest level of realism while ensuring it remains user-friendly.

Flight Planning: We are exploring how to best create a flight planning suite for the Tornado like DIPLAS in order to give REECE gathered with the pod real gameplay value and provide multiple options for how you want to fly your Tornado.

Your support and feedback is invaluable to us, and we are eager to share new developments as we progress with you. Here's to a ground breaking 2024!

Merry Christmas!

Yours, Aviastorm

As we push forward with the development of the Jet we got hands on with a beautiful bird.

Bonus points if you know where this one is located and any backstory on the gorgeous scheme.
