Did a scale test for the Walker tank - I wanted to escape the traditional Titan fall look that others do so fantastic already.

Idea is pilot lays down in tank in a VR suite assisted by Ai.

All printed in 15mm as an experiment, because for a scale test I didn’t wish to use to much resin.

In background you can see the damaged small van, this printed with a separate roof so you can paint the interior if you wish.

Can’t do much this evening as our internet has been down since lunch. So using my not so smart phone.

🥤 Soda can → miniature rusty corrugated roofing!

Here’s a fun way to turn the thin aluminium from an empty soda can into realistic roofing for a dollhouse, shed or diorama.

Carefully remove the top and bottom of the can, cut down the side and flatten the aluminium. Watch those cut edges — they can be extremely sharp. Cut the sheet into strips or small roofing panels of equal size.

To make the corrugations, feed the aluminium through a simple metal toothpaste-tube squeezer. Turning the little crank pushes the sheet between the ridged rollers and creates those tiny, evenly spaced grooves. Trim the pieces to size afterward if needed.

For the aged finish, first use a matte clear coat to take away the shine. Dab on small amounts of black or dark-brown acrylic paint, then stipple and scrub it with an old toothbrush and a little isopropyl alcohol to create a dirty, weathered metal effect.

Add light and dark rust-colored washes, concentrating some of the color inside the grooves. Dab and blend rather than covering everything evenly — irregular patches make the rust look much more natural.

Once dry, overlap the panels slightly when attaching them to your miniature roof.
