Visited a customer last week to unpack and install a new ACER Aspire TC-1785 Desktop PC and a new HP DeskJet 2810e All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer. Customer's photos copied across from old PC and printer app installed on customer's mobile to allow printing from that device as well. Microsoft 365 installed as customer had purchased a subscription. Guided customer in use of new system. Charge for this job: £60.

A recent job involved installing a Ring Video Doorbell (2nd gen) and a Ring Stick-Up Cam (Battery). Usual practice is to install a security camera at a height of 8 or 9 feet as this keeps it out of reach yet still allows decent capture of faces. However, this does mean that you need to use a ladder to access the camera and remove/replace the battery every few months.

This customer asked for the camera to be installed to the side of a first floor window so that it can be accessed by leaning through the window opening (i.e. no need to use a ladder). Camera's height from the ground probably 12 to 13 feet so not optimum for recording faces but probably good enough in most scenarios.

Please note that we don't supply hardware, so you will need to order this yourself. We can provide advice and guidance to help you buy the right product at the best price.

Following an initial consultation by phone or online, we will give you a fixed-price quotation for our work. This will be based on our estimate of the time it will take to complete the job. You will not be charged more if it takes longer.

Our quotations are worked out at a cost of £20 for the initial consultation and first 30 minutes on site, plus £5 per additional 15-minute period.

Payment to be made in-person by credit/debit card on completion of the work.
