I know this is a bit different from my normal style of illustration, but after installing a new crayon brush set on Krita, I really felt for something with this sort of vibe to test the new brushes out. Pretty happy with how this turned out 🙂

I AM KAWAII

Well this was a fun project to kick-start my new sketchbook ☺️ Theres something that's so satisfying about finishing a traditional art piece and holding in front of you after you sign it and consider it done 🎨🥰

I was also amazed with how well my new sketchbook handled alcohol markers! It came with a super handy soft writing mat that makes sure your pen/pencil stroked don't affect the page below, and as an extra protection to stop markers going through. It's such a nifty thing I never knew I needed, but I'm sure it'll be used long after this sketchbook is finished 👌🏻

Whoopsy, I meant to post the update this weekend, but better late than never I suppose 😊
I've been finding it such a big help to focus on drawing some happy blobs while this blob (myself that is) is having a tough time. I can't help but pull the faces of the characters I'm working on, and I'm sure forcing odd smiles on my face has to be good for something, right? 🤣😅

Here's a blast from the past!

Something most of you don't know is that I used to sculpt crystal jewellery & steampunk accessories up to about 5 years ago. While I have decided to focus on art & illustration as my main creative practice now, it is still quite nice to find a stone that inspires me to make a new pendant....like the perfect piece of flint I found on Brighton Beach!

If anyone wants to know the gem cabochons in there are, from the top they are: carnelian, green tourmaline & rainbow moonstone.

you're latest reel totally inspired me to do this post :p if any of you don't know her, you should definitely check her stuff out! She's a wonderfully talented local illustrator!

This is the 2nd Drawing Gift that I made for my friends this Christmas.

I wanted to go for a Fantastic Mr Fox sort of vibe with a reeeeeeeeally long snoot! It was also really nice to test out some new soft colouring in pencils, which were definitely quite different to what I'm used to 🤣

I decided to draw pictures for a few friends of Christmas this year.

A few days before Christmas, our host told us that he's inviting one of his friends who was going to spend Christmas alone. Seeing as I was drawing everyone there a picture, I drew one for the new guest as well. I hadn't met her before, so had to think about how to draw someone a picture that I knew nothing about. I thought, well, I friggin love cookies, as does everyone else I know, so thought I'd do something around that :)

It was so precious seeing how much she appreciated it, and even better when she told me that this picture is SO her! 🤗 I love it when gifts like that are so well received!
