Most businesses think security starts and ends with passwords, logins, and firewalls.

They're important, but they only tell part of the story.

The organisations seeing the strongest results are taking a different approach: they don't just verify identity at login, they continue validating trust throughout the session 👀

By monitoring behaviour, device, and context in the background, they can spot when something doesn't look right and act quickly.

The benefits? Lower fraud, smoother onboarding, better compliance outcomes, and higher registration success rates.

What's interesting is that many organisations believe they're already doing this well, yet only a small percentage meet the standard of what researchers call "verified trust."

As AI and connected systems become more common, identity is no longer just about granting access. It's about maintaining confidence in who (or what) is interacting with your business after access is granted.

The leaders in this space are moving beyond passwords and embracing passkeys, biometrics, and continuous verification.

👉 How much trust does your organisation place in a login, and how would you know if something changed after that point?

We’ve all had the Windows moment.. you go to shut down your laptop and suddenly it decides now is the time to install updates 😅

That experience has trained a lot of us to see updates as disruptive and easy to delay.

Windows 11 is improving that with more control, fewer surprise restarts, and better timing - which is great.

But there’s a trade-off.

A lot of updates aren’t just new features. They contain security fixes for vulnerabilities that are already known (and sometimes already being exploited).

Every time updates get pushed back, that risk window stays open a little longer 🦠

You don’t need to install every update immediately but having a regular routine for updates and restarts turns them from an interruption into part of keeping things running smoothly.

🤔 If updates become easier to delay, will they happen more smoothly.. or just less often?

That 'Unusual login detected' notification 😬

Attackers rely on that split second of panic.

Some of the most convincing phishing emails now imitate security alerts:
• suspicious activity
• account locked
• verify now

The branding looks real, the urgency feels genuine, and reacting too quickly can hand over your details.

Simple habit change - don’t click the email!

Open the service directly in your browser and check your account there instead. If there’s a real issue, you’ll see it.

And the basics still matter:
✅ unique passwords
✅ password manager
✅ two-factor authentication

Sometimes the biggest security win is simply slowing down.

💭 Do you usually react immediately to security alerts, or verify them first?

Most businesses think security starts and ends with passwords, logins, and firewalls.

But the strongest performers are doing something more 👀

They don’t just verify users at login - they keep validating identity throughout the session using behaviour, device, and context.

If something changes, they can act quickly ✋

The result? More successful registrations, less fraud, faster onboarding, and fewer compliance issues.

As systems become more connected and AI plays a bigger role, identity isn’t just about access anymore - it’s about maintaining trust after access is granted.

👉 When someone logs into your systems, how do you know nothing changes afterwards?

Most people still think they can spot a phishing email..

A few years ago, that was probably true. Bad spelling and obvious mistakes made them easier to catch.

But now, AI has changed the game.

Phishing emails look and sound like normal business communication, polished, professional, and convincing.

That’s what makes them dangerous. You’re not spotting something suspicious anymore, you’re questioning something that looks completely legitimate.

Which is why small habits matter more than ever, here's a couple of tips:

🔎 Pause before clicking
🔎 Check links carefully
🔎 Go directly to the website instead of using the email prompt

💭 What’s the one thing that makes you stop and double-check an email?

We’ve all had this Windows moment 😅

You’re wrapping up something important, go to shut down your laptop and Windows suddenly decides it’s update time.

That frustration has shaped how a lot of people think about updates: disruptive, badly timed, and easy to postpone.

With Windows 11, Microsoft is improving that experience by giving users more control, fewer surprise restarts and more flexibility around when updates happen which is genuinely a good thing.

But there’s a catch.

The easier updates are to delay, the easier they are to ignore.

And many updates aren’t just new features or minor fixes. They often include security patches for vulnerabilities that attackers already know about and sometimes are already exploiting.

Every delay extends that risk window 🦠

A better way to think about updates is as routine maintenance. Like locking the office at the end of the day. Not always urgent in the moment, but important enough that skipping it repeatedly creates problems later.

You don’t need to install updates instantly, but you do need a plan:
✔️ Regular update windows
✔️ Device restarts
✔️ Keeping systems in a known good state

When it becomes routine, it stops feeling disruptive.

🤔 As updates become easier to postpone, do you think they’ll happen more smoothly.. or just less often?

Had a business owner tell me recently:
“We’re fine.. we use Macs” 🙂

I get it. Macs used to feel like the “safe” option but cyber criminals have caught up.

One of the fastest-growing threats right now is info stealer malware designed to quietly grab things like saved logins, keychains, cloud access tokens, and even WhatsApp sessions.

What’s worrying is how these attacks happen now:

⚠️ Fake Google ads for tools like PDF editors
⚠️ Fake system pop-ups offering a “fix”
⚠️ DMG installers that look completely legitimate
⚠️ Hijacked WhatsApp accounts sending malicious links from trusted contacts

And once attackers get access, they often don’t even need your password.

The big shift? It’s no longer about Mac vs Windows. It’s about how well your business is protected, monitored, and how aware your team is 👀

If you’re running Macs or a mix of devices, would you spot this before damage was done?

Opened Windows Storage settings recently and seen a surprise “Do you want to allow this?” pop-up? 😅

That’s a new Windows 11 security change, the Storage section now triggers a UAC prompt because it gives access to things like drive management, file deletion, and system cleanup.

For businesses using standard user accounts, staff may now need admin approval to access those settings 🔐

Honestly, it’s a sensible move. Fewer accidental deletions, tighter control, and one more layer of protection if someone gets local access to a device.

A little less convenient? Maybe.
More secure? Definitely.

Are your users still running with admin access, or have you locked things down properly? 👀

If you get a message saying a large Apple Pay payment has been blocked and you need to call a number urgently.. stop 🚩

There’s a convincing new scam targeting Apple users right now.

The message usually claims there’s suspicious activity or a high-value purchase on your account. It looks polished, professional, and urgent 😱

But the phone number connects you directly to scammers.

Their goal? Panic you into handing over Apple ID details, verification codes, or payment information.

A few red flags to watch for:
• Urgent threats or pressure to act immediately
• Phone numbers included in texts or emails
• Generic greetings or strange sender addresses
• Messages claiming your account will be locked unless you respond

If you’re ever unsure, don’t use the contact details in the message 🚫

Instead:
✅ Check your Apple purchase history directly on your device
✅ Contact Apple through their official website
✅ Let your bank verify any suspicious transactions

Scammers are getting smarter, which is why slowing down and double-checking matters more than ever.

Would people in your business know how to spot this?

29/04/2026

You’d probably say email or passwords are your biggest security risks.

But Microsoft Office apps? Most people never think about them 👀

Yet Word, Excel and PowerPoint are some of the most common ways attackers get in ☠️

Microsoft has just tightened its Microsoft 365 security baseline - essentially a recommended set of safer settings for Office apps.

The changes block a lot of older features and risky connections attackers love to exploit, including:

🔒 Blocking unsafe web connections
🔒 Disabling outdated add-ins and components
🔒 Stopping risky external data refreshes in Excel
🔒 Turning off older embedding tech in PowerPoint

The catch? These protections don’t always switch on automatically.

Worth asking: when was the last time your Office security settings were actually reviewed - not just updated?
