One year of Design By De Souza.

It feels a bit surreal to say I’ve been running my design business full-time for a whole year now.

Graphic design has been part of my life since college, but for a long time, I only offered it to friends and family. I never really had the confidence to take it further.

Last year, I finally decided to go for it, and it’s honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Thank you to all my clients for trusting me and keeping me so busy. It’s been really rewarding to support local businesses and be a small part of what you’re building.

It’s also made me realise how important it is to actually take a chance on yourself.

Logo redesign for Glow By Jade Aesthetics.

Jade wanted a logo that felt elegant, luxurious and feminine without the typical pink beauty brand aesthetic.

The goal was to create something simple yet impactful, with stylised typography and a subtle sparkle element to reflect the “Glow” aspect of the brand.

During the design process we also refined the colour palette slightly to achieve the soft, neutral tones that give the final logo its luxe feel.

The result is a clean, elegant identity that works beautifully across social media, marketing materials and branding assets.

Canva isn’t the problem.

Lack of strategy is.

I use multiple tools in my workflow — including Canva — but professional brand identities are built in vector software like Adobe Illustrator to ensure scalability, flexibility and long-term growth.

A template can get you started. But it can’t:
• Position you properly
• Differentiate yourself in a competitive market
• Build instant trust
• Support a growing business.

Southern Renewable Solutions originally created their own logo when launching, which is something many business owners do in the early stages.

But as the company grew, the branding needed to grow with it.

The original design communicated the industry…

The redesign communicates authority.

By introducing a distinctive “S” icon combining solar and panel elements, we created a recognisable brand mark — not just a wordmark.
