We recently welcomed the latest students in our work experience programme. Ben and Odhran from Bristnall Hall Academy in Oldbury and Raffaele from Queensbridge School in Moseley, Birmingham, spent a week with the developers at IIZUKA, learning about coding and getting a taste of what it's like to work in software development. They all enjoyed the experience and told us that it's made them more likely to pursue careers in software development. Mission accomplished!

So far this year, we've hosted 15 work experience students from schools across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Students who come to us are generally from Years 10 and 12 and stay with us for one or two weeks. Here are four of the latest 'graduates' from the IIZUKA work experience scheme, Hemil from Sandwell Academy and Tristan, William and Luke from Bishop Vesey's, pictured with some of the team who mentor them.

As a responsible business, we know how important it is to encourage young people to explore their skills and find out what kind of career they want. That's why, every year, we offer work experience placements to youngsters from local schools. This year we have 14 young people from Year 10 and Year 12 spending time with our team, discovering whether they want to pursue a career in software development. Pictured below are Nihal, Ajwadur and Arjan, from King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School, who spent last week with Martin and Abraar from our development team, learning about coding.

They told us that they really enjoyed their week, learning new skills, building confidence and playing table tennis at lunch time!

More Christmas jumpers!

It's Christmas jumper day at IIZUKA, as we start to wind down for the festive season. We've also collected funds for our charity partner St Basils Charity to provide a cash donation and some goods for the outreach team, who support young homeless people across Birmingham and the West Midlands. We wish all our customers, followers, friends and families a wonderful festive season and the best 2024!
