☕🥐 A slow Saturday morning.

Coffee. Croissants. No rushing anywhere.

There’s something quite nice about having a morning where the biggest decision you have to make is whether you’re having the buttered croissant with or without jam.

Running a business can mean there’s always something else you could be doing.

Another email to answer.
Another website tweak.
Another idea to make a note of.

But sometimes it’s good to put the laptop away, enjoy your breakfast and remember that not everything needs doing right now.

Paige&Pixel might be about websites, blogs, SEO, accessibility and all the technical stuff that goes with them, but there’s a real person behind the screen.

And Simon will be sharing plenty of that practical website knowledge here — without making you wade through a load of jargon.

Enjoy your Saturday. ☕🥐

Why Therapists Put Off Building a Website (And Why You're Not Alone)

Many therapists know they need a website but still find themselves putting it off. If you've delayed creating one because it feels overwhelming, personal or you're waiting until you feel "ready", you're certainly not alone. Here's why it happens—and what can help.

When someone finds your website, how do you want them to feel?

Calm? Understood? Ready to get in touch? 🌿

That's the thinking behind Breathe, our newest website template. It uses soft colours, plenty of white space and reassuring wording, so a nervous first-time visitor feels welcome from the moment they arrive.

It's ideal for counsellors, therapists, coaches and other wellbeing professionals, and we'll tailor it to your practice and your voice.

☕🏎️ A bit of hot chocolate, marshmallows and F1…

Yesterday afternoon was a little different from the usual routine.

Hot chocolate, far too many marshmallows and Formula 1 race on the telly on a Saturday!?! Sometimes it’s good to change things up a bit, even if it’s only for an afternoon.

And it got me thinking…

When was the last time you changed something up in your own business?

Maybe your website has been saying the same thing for the last few years and could do with a refresh.

Maybe there’s a service you’ve started offering that isn’t actually mentioned anywhere.

Or perhaps you’ve never really told people much about you — how you work, what matters to you or what clients can expect when they come to you.

It doesn’t always have to mean starting again from scratch. Sometimes a few small changes can make your business feel a bit more like where you are now, rather than where you were a couple of years ago.

So, while I enjoyed my very important F1 race on a Saturday!? and marshmallow research yesterday 😂, maybe it’s worth having a little look at your own business and asking:

“Does this still reflect me and what I’m offering now?”

And if your website is one of the things that needs a bit of a change-up, that’s where Paige&Pixel can help.

🔎 Your website might be doing more work than you realise

Or, perhaps, not quite enough.

If you run a counselling practice, therapy business, coaching service, clinic or another health and wellbeing business, your website needs to do more than simply exist.

Can people quickly understand what you offer?

Can they find the information they need?

Is it easy to use on a phone?

Can search engines understand what your pages are about?

And does the website actually sound like you?

These are the sorts of things Simon will be talking about here at Paige&Pixel.

With more than 20 years in web design and development, he has plenty of experience to share — but we don't want to throw technical jargon at you.

The aim is simple: practical, straightforward advice that helps you understand your website and make better decisions about it.

Whether you're thinking about a brand-new website, wondering whether your current one is doing its job, or simply want to understand a bit more about SEO and accessibility, Simon will be sharing tips to help.

💻 Why did Simon start Paige&Pixel?

Because building a website for your practice should be about more than choosing a nice template and putting your contact details online.

For counsellors, therapists and other health and wellbeing professionals, your website is often the first place a potential client goes to find out who you are, what you offer and whether you feel like the right person to contact.

Simon wanted to create websites that actually understand that.

With more than 20 years in web design and development, he brings the technical knowledge, while Paige&Pixel focuses on making that knowledge useful for people running their own practices.

That means thinking about things such as accessibility, search visibility, clear information, good user experience and making sure your website reflects the professional you are.

And it doesn’t stop at building the site.

Simon will be sharing plenty of practical advice along the way, including website tips, SEO, accessibility and things you might not have considered about your own site.

👋 Meet Simon — the person behind Paige&Pixel

You may have seen Paige&Pixel popping up recently, but you might not know the person behind it.

So, let’s introduce you to Simon.

Simon has more than 20 years’ experience in web design and development, and he’s the technical brain behind Paige&Pixel.

After years of building websites, he wanted to create something a little different: websites designed specifically with counsellors, therapists and other health and wellbeing professionals in mind.

That means understanding that your website isn’t just about looking good. It needs to be accessible, easy for potential clients to use, search-friendly and able to communicate what you actually do.

And because Simon is a real person rather than a faceless web agency, you can ask questions, have a proper conversation and get straightforward advice without the jargon.

Over the coming weeks, Simon will be sharing practical tips, website advice and things worth knowing if you run your own practice.

👉 Follow the https://paigeandpixel.uk/blog/the-paige-and-pixel-blog to see our regular blog posts with Simon’s tips, insights and more useful advice for counsellors, therapists and other health and wellbeing professionals.
