Is a Gen 5 SSD actually worth it in 2026… or just an expensive upgrade that barely changes anything? 🤔

I put Gen 4 vs Gen 5 head-to-head in real-world tests game load times, file transfers, and those tricky thermals to see if the hype matches the price tag.

Air cooler vs AIO for gaming what actually matters isn’t “lowest temps,” it’s consistent boost + smooth 1% lows.

I broke down when air wins, when AIO makes sense, and the airflow mistake everyone ignores. Full post on our site.

If you want a simple, “buy once and it works” setup, I also stock the core items I recommend for real world gaming.

If you’re choosing between a big air cooler and an AIO, you’re probably chasing one of three things: More FPS More stable performance (fewer drops/stutters) Lower temps because “lower = faster” Here’s the truth: cooling rarely gives you a big average FPS boost on its own. What it does chan...

To my fellow builders: Stop fighting over overpriced listings on Marketplace.

I’ve been researching the "Graveyard Market" in local repair shops. I found that most "unfixable" tags are actually just due to high labor costs, not dead silicon.

I put together a guide on how to talk to local techs to get first dibs on these discarded flagships and how to spot the ones that only need a simple thermal refresh or a fuse swap.

Check it out if you're trying to build a high-end rig on a 2010-era budget:

Is this a "Gaming PC" or an office computer in a fancy case? 🤔

I fact checked popular eBay listings to see if they can actually handle games like Fortnite and GTA V.

The verdict: It’s a 14 year old CPU paired with a graphics card that was never meant for gaming. 📉

Public Service Announcement for PC Builders ⚠️

Before you tell your friend to buy a new GPU because their game feels "sluggish," do me a favor. Check their Windows settings first.
There are 4 specific "default" settings in Windows 11 and your BIOS that silently eat up CPU cycles and RAM speed. I’ve seen veteran builders forget these after a BIOS update, and it resets everything back to slow motion.

I just uploaded a guide on exactly what to turn off to reclaim that "lost" performance for free. Don't let software rot steal the hardware you paid for.

Let’s talk about the "Price Creep" in PC building lately. 📈

I’ve seen so many custom builds lately start with a sensible £1,800 budget and somehow end up north of £4,000. It’s easy to do you swap the air cooler for a 360mm AIO, you double the RAM "just in case," and suddenly you’re looking at a beast of a machine.

But here’s the technical reality: for 1440p Ultrawide gaming, there is a massive "sweet spot." You don't always need the top-tier halo product to hit that 240fps mark.

Quick Tip: If you’re building right now, prioritize your GPU and NVMe speeds. 64GB of RAM looks great on a spec sheet, but for 95% of gamers, 32GB is still the performance ceiling. Don't let the "Ultra" branding trick you into spending money that won't actually net you more frames!

What’s the biggest "budget jump" you’ve ever made mid-build? Let me know below! 👇

Are you planning a PC build this year? You might have heard about the "RAMpocalypse." 📉

With the massive surge in AI data centers, global demand for memory has skyrocketed, leading to higher prices and limited stock for DDR5 RAM and SSDs. If you're looking to upgrade, now is the time to be strategic.

Educational Tip: When choosing RAM in 2026, don't just look at capacity. Pay attention to "First Word Latency." For modern CPUs like the new Intel Panther Lake or AMD Zen 6, finding the "sweet spot" frequency (typically 6000MHz-6400MHz) is often more important for gaming stability than just having the highest possible clock speed.

Thinking about a new Gaming PC but can't decide between buying pre built or building it yourself? The maths has changed in 2026! 📉

In my latest video, I’m diving deep into the "Pre built vs. Custom" debate. I’m using real world examples from Overclockers and matching them part for part on PCPartPicker to see who actually wins on value.

I'm covering:
✅ Why mid-range pre-builts are beating custom builds on price.
✅ The "Hidden Performance" you're leaving on the table (XMP/EXPO).
✅ Proprietary parts that kill your upgrade path.
✅ Thermal throttling: Why "same parts" doesn't always mean "same FPS."

Whether you want a plug and play 1080p starter or a 4K enthusiast monster, this guide will save you money and headaches.

Thinking about building a new Intel based PC? You might want to wait. 🛑

While Intel’s Arrow Lake is a solid, stable platform for today, the "18A Revolution" is just around the corner. My latest video explores Intel’s upcoming roadmap, specifically focusing on Panther Lake and Nova Lake.

We discuss:
✅ Why "PowerVia" is the secret weapon for battery life.
✅ The "Unified Core" rumor: Is the P-core/E-core split disappearing?
✅ Should you buy Arrow Lake now or wait for the 2026 leap?

If you’re a desktop enthusiast or a laptop power user, you don’t want to miss this deep dive into the future of Intel silicon.

YOUR DREAM PC BUILD IS OFFICIALLY IN DANGER. 🛑💻

Remember when 64GB of DDR5 was a $200 "add to cart" no-brainer? Those days are GONE. 💸

We’re currently witnessing a fundamental market shift that has turned RAM from a simple commodity into a luxury item. Some high end kits are pushing past $800, and prices have surged by over 400% since last summer. 📈

The culprit? Two letters: A.I. 🤖

While we’re trying to build gaming rigs and editing stations, tech giants like Google and Meta are buying up every chip they can find to fuel massive AI data centers. We aren't just building PCs anymore, we’re in a silent war for silicon and right now, we’re losing.

In my latest video, we break down:
✅ Why the AI boom is draining your bank account.
✅ The "HBM" tech that’s choking consumer production.
✅ How to survive the "RAMpocalypse" (including why DDR4 might be your new best friend).

Don't buy your next kit until you see this.
