MenoVida

MenoVida Connect the Dots. Tell your Story. At MenoVida, we're on a mission to empower women through the menopausal transition.

We’re creating a personalised, easy-to-use App, built by women for women, to support you and your GP, so you get the care you need.

It's well known that as women, we often put ourselves last on our own list.

For most women, perimenopause doesn't tend to announce itself.

(Unless you're plunged into surgical or medical menopause when your hormones drop off a cliff, overnight. 😢.)

It slowly appears, symptom by symptom, until suddenly you just don't feel like yourself anymore.

We don't put ourselves at the bottom of the list because we don't care about our health. It's often because there's always someone else or something that needs us more. Work, family, life.

The symptoms get pushed down, explained away, managed quietly in the background.

Until they can't be anymore.

There comes a point where the brain fog, the broken sleep, and the anxiety mean something has to change. There's a reason they tell you on a plane to put your own oxygen mask on first. And for so many of us, perimenopause is that moment.

That's when priorities shift.
And the questions start.
Where do we find the right support?
Can we afford it?

In the UK, we're fortunate to have the NHS. But navigating it isn't always easy. Appointments are short, often just 10 minutes, and perimenopause is anything but simple. There are ways we can help ourselves, though. By arriving with the evidence we need to tell our story clearly.

By tracking our symptoms, mood and impact on quality of life over time, we can turn months of lived experience into something a GP can actually work with.

We're building MenoVida to help. Because every woman deserves that support, not just those who can afford to go private.

A question we're often asked by investors is will women pay?

Our own research found that 77% of women were open to paying for the right app support. And according to research by Clearpay, women are already spending an average of £1,800 a year managing their symptoms. We are investing in our health. We're just not always getting the right support in return.

And that's exactly what MenoVida is built around. Not the technology. The outcome. Women getting the help they need, and GPs having what they need to give it.

That's why we're building the right way. With a health advisory board of specialist GPs and healthcare professionals. With 22 ambassadors who truly understand this space. With privacy and clinical credibility at the core from day one. And with a growing community of women who are done waiting for change.

We're building this with and for women like us. And we're just getting started.

If you're passionate about improving women's health and interested in learning more about our investment opportunity, drop us an email: [email protected].

PS. We had to share this photo of our founder Jo Mavridis, as it reminds us of Dr Nighat Arif's recent post about entering her villain era in perimenopause and admitting to swearing. 💫

🧡 Swearing, great therapy for so many things; do you find it helps?

PPS. If you're looking for a great community to join where you can ask questions from experts, learn from other women and find support, we're delighted that two of our amazing ambassadors run Perimenopause Hub official. Visit their page to learn more about joining their free community of over 165,000 members.

May has been quite a month for women's health — and a surprising one for MenoVida. 🎡

PCOS has finally got the right name after 14 years. It's now PMOS, and for the millions of women living with it, that matters more than it might sound.

Endometriosis gets its first-ever BBC documentary. A condition affecting 1 in 10 women that still takes over nine years to diagnose. We're planning to watch it this week.

Australia launches its first national perimenopause campaign. Progress: Though global HRT supply issues remain a real challenge, Lorai Health is working tirelessly to help change that.

And from us, news on how we're building MenoVida differently. Research and community first, technology second. A simple tool for a complex problem, designed to reduce the mental load of this life stage, not add to it.

With huge thanks to our ambassadors, Laura Phillips and Dr Kathryn (Kayt) Wiederman, who, between them, bring product and marketing expertise, medical knowledge and lived experience of perimenopause as we start the build.

Oh, and there's also an investment update involving a Ferris wheel and a fear of heights.

Today marks the start of A Level exams, and our thoughts are with every parent who has watched their child's stress slowly build over the last few months and is now waiting anxiously to hear how it went. 🧡

But today got us thinking.

So many women tell us that walking into a GP appointment for perimenopause symptoms feels remarkably similar to sitting an exam.

You prepare. You make a list. You walk in, the clock starts, and suddenly half of what you wanted to say has gone. You're trying to sound credible, stay composed, whilst dealing with the very brain fog and anxiety that brought you there in the first place. And then just as you reach for the door handle to leave, it hits you.

The one thing you most needed to say. Too late.

It shouldn't feel like that. But for so many women, it does.

That's what MenoVida is here to change. We're building a simple symptom-tracking app so you can walk into your appointment with clear, documented evidence of your lived experience. The picture that's been impossible to explain out loud, right there on the page. So that your GP gets the data they need to actually help, within the ten minutes they have.

Because you deserve to walk out of that appointment feeling truly heard, not replaying in your head all the things you forgot to say.

We're closer than ever to making this a reality.

How do you feel walking into a GP appointment? Prepared and confident, or sitting in the waiting room rehearsing what you're going to say, and still worrying it won't come out right when it matters most?

MenoVida HQ has been buzzing this April. 🧡

Our trademark is officially awarded, the Government's women's health strategy has landed, promising, but we'll believe it when we see it and a personal story about a trailblazing mum from the 70s that stopped us in our tracks.

Plus something exciting that might just change how you think about who gets to be an investor.

Grab a cuppa and have a read. ☕

Our March blog is officially arriving on April 1st — and no, that's not a joke! ❤️ A busy March has a lot to answer for.

But it's here, and there's plenty inside worth reading:

We sat down with the CEO of Mumsnet, for a brilliant conversation about their research into medical misogyny and how MenoVida can help women navigate those often-daunting GP appointments with more confidence and clarity.

We also spoke with Dr Rachael Causon, The Hair Restoration Doctor, for a warm and eye-opening chat about the very real impact of hair loss during hormonal change, and how we might collaborate to signpost her free resources and webinars to women who need them.

Laura Harnett, Founder of Seep, shared her hard-won experience of raising investment as a female founder. Always good to hear the real version of the journey.

And alongside our Ambassador Laura Phillips, we've been working with Matt Ferm at Growth for Purpose on a full product audit of the MenoVida prototype, so we're ready to hit the ground running when our investment round launches.

One of the month's highlights was the EmpowerHER: Women's Health in Focus event in Bristol, hosted by Hazel Hayden at the Bristol Menopause & Wellwoman Clinic. A brilliant day connecting with menopause experts, GPs and holistic practitioners — and proof that the South West is very much on the map when it comes to women's health.

⚖️ Menopause is now included in the UK Employment Rights Bill — large employers will soon be required to have a Menopause Action Plan in place. If you know a company that needs support with this, some of our brilliant Ambassadors specialise in this area and would love to hear from you. You can find their details in the blog.

📋 We also cover the new GP contract changes and what they mean for women navigating perimenopause, and why sharing your symptoms clearly with your GP matters more than ever.

💃 And finally, we submitted our SEIS application, bringing our investment round one step closer to launching. If that's something you'd like to know more about, we'd love to have a conversation. Just drop us an email, [email protected]

From GP contract changes to the UK Employment Rights Bill, MenoVida's March newsletter covers the latest in women's health, perimenopause tracking and why sharing your symptoms with your GP matters more than ever.

Did you know kitchen sponges, candles and ci******es are more regulated than tampons 🤯

Tampon regulation hasn’t kept pace with modern science, safety standards or women’s health and TOTM Organic are leading a campaign to drive change. And they have our support 💫

It's shocking to hear that something we put in our bodies could contain harmful chemicals, plastic, heavy metals, pesticides, bleaches and dyes without any warnings.

But it doesn't have to be this way.

It takes 30 seconds to change 95 years of unregulated period care.

Please sign the petition. Then share.

We need to help get it to 10k to prompt a government response and to 100k to give it a chance to be debated in parliament. So let's see what we can do with our followers and community :-)

A tampon, that thing you put INSIDE your body, next to your reproductive organs, in direct contact with your bloodstream IS LESS REGULATED THAN A CIGARETTE, A CRAYON, A SPONGE AND A SAUSAGE.

So we need to do something about it.

It's also proven that many tampons contain harmful chemicals, plastic, heavy metals, pesticides, bleaches and dyes.

Tampon regulation hasn’t kept pace with modern science, safety standards, or women’s health.

Tampons are still classified as a consumer product.

That means companies are not legally required to:

❌ Disclose their ingredients
❌ Test the products for pesticide residues
❌ Undergo the kind of mandatory scrutiny we expect for products used internally

Time is up on 95 years of unregulated period care. 🛑
Time to take just 30 seconds to sign the TOTM Organic petition.

If you believe women’s health deserves better, sign and share.

At 100k their petition has the chance to be officially debated in parliament. DEADLINE is 18th March!

Let’s help them make every tampon safer than a sausage!

Introducing our incredible Ambassadors 🧡

"There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish." — Michelle Obama

A conversation about the power of community sparked something special: our MenoVida Ambassador Programme.

We now have 22 amazing women freely giving their time to support what we're building because they truly believe in the mission.

We recently demoed our prototype to them, and the feedback was overwhelming. Brilliant ideas, thoughtful insights, and real-world perspectives that only come from lived experience.

The range of expertise is extraordinary:

🧡 Healthcare professionals (GPs, menopause specialists, nurses, nutritionists)
🧡 Business strategists (startup advisors, C-suite execs)
🧡 Marketing & comms experts (PR, content, digital, LinkedIn strategy)
🧡 Coaches & wellbeing practitioners (menopause coaches, yoga, holistic health)
🧡 Tech & innovation leaders (digital transformation, tech4good, privacy experts)
🧡 Community builders (perimenopause hubs, online community leaders, podcasters, authors, advocates and campaigners)
🧡 Talent & leadership specialists

Every single one brings energy, knowledge, compassion, and professional expertise. But they also bring something more, their lived experience of perimenopause and menopause, and their determination to make it better for others.

As we grow, these women will help us build not just the right solution, but the right business to deliver it sustainably and at scale. Their insights will shape everything we create.

To all our ambassadors: thank you.

Your belief in this mission means everything 🧡
