Despite the weather forecast, there's still plenty to look forward to this weekend, with Halloween parties, thousands of FREE pumpkins, live entertainment, family activities and community fundraisers! 🎃🍂
With events taking place across Barrow, Dalton and Ulverston on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October, there's something for all ages to enjoy.

🎃 SATURDAY 24TH OCTOBER
🍂 AUTUMN FEST – THOUSANDS OF FREE PUMPKINS!
📍 Barrow Town Centre

Barrow's biggest autumn family event returns tomorrow, with Barrow BID transforming the town centre!
The hugely popular FREE Pumpkin Patch is back, with thousands of pumpkins being given away to families throughout the day.
There's much more planned too, including:
- 🎃 Free pumpkin picking and decorating
- 🦙 Meet the adorable alpacas
- 🎨 Free autumn craft workshops
- 🧗 An exciting mobile caving experience
- 🛍️ Makers market featuring independent traders
- 🍲 Seasonal cooking demonstrations
- 📸 Autumn-themed photo opportunities
It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some free family fun, support local businesses and make some lovely autumn memories.
The event is organised by Barrow BID and supported by BAE Systems.

👻 ELMHURST HALLOWEEN PARTY NIGHT

Get your little witches, ghosts, vampires and monsters ready for a spooky evening of Halloween fun!
Elmhurst is hosting its Halloween Party Night, with entry costing just £1 per person, including all the games and a party bag.
There'll be:

- 🍬 Spooky treats
- 🎃 Halloween games and activities
- 🏆 A prize for the best Halloween costume
- 🎟️ A raffle
A lovely affordable Halloween celebration for local families, with plenty of reasons to get dressed up!
⚓ SEA SHANTY WEEKEND AT THE DOCK MUSEUM

All hands on deck! The Dock Museum is hosting a weekend of traditional sea shanties and family activities.
Visitors can enjoy lively maritime performances throughout both days, celebrating the songs and seafaring traditions associated with life at sea.

- 2.30pm
Little Rebels will also be running drop-in craft workshops, giving children the chance to get creative.
Families can explore the museum's exhibitions and discover more about Barrow's fascinating maritime and shipbuilding heritage while they're there.
🎭 GILBERT & SULLIVAN'S IOLANTHE – CHARITY CONCERT
📍 St Mark's Church, Buccleuch Street, Barrow

🎟️ FREE entry – Donations welcome
Enjoy an evening of musical entertainment with a concert performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's much-loved comic opera Iolanthe.
The production promises a mixture of humour, beautiful melodies and traditional musical theatre.
Admission is free, with a collection taking place in support of St Mary's Hospice, helping the charity continue its important work caring for local people and their families.
🪩 HALLOWEEN MASQUERADE 80s DISCO

Get ready for an evening of spooky costumes, 1980s music and dancing!
Furness Cricket Club is hosting a Halloween Masquerade 80s Disco in support of Croft Care Trust.
It's a chance to enjoy some classic 80s hits, get into the Halloween spirit and support a local charitable cause.
🛍️ ULVERSTON SATURDAY STREET MARKET
📍 Market Street and New Market Street, Ulverston
⏰ 8am – 4pm
Ulverston's traditional Saturday market offers another opportunity to support local traders and independent businesses.
Browse a selection of market stalls, explore the town's independent shops and enjoy a visit to Ulverston's historic town centre.
💚 SU***DE AWARENESS CHARITY BALL

A special fundraising evening is planned to raise awareness of su***de prevention and support mental health charities.
The evening will feature live music, raffle prizes and an opportunity for guests to come together in support of an incredibly important cause.
Profits will be shared between Mind in Furness, Every Life Matters and Andy's Man Club.

🚒 CHARITY CAR WASH – MEET THE FIREFIGHTERS!
📍 Ulverston Blue Light Hub, Beehive Business Park, Thomas Way
⏰ 12 noon – 4pm
❤️ Supporting The Fire Fighters Charity
Ulverston firefighters are inviting motorists to bring their vehicles along for a charity car wash.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet members of the fire crew while supporting The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides vital assistance to serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.
A great way to get your car cleaned while supporting those who help keep our communities safe!
🎶 AUTUMN SOUNDS – CHARITY CONCERT
📍 Ulverston Methodist Church Hall, Neville Street
⏰ 2pm
🎟️ £10 – Cash on the door
An afternoon of live music is planned in Ulverston, bringing together two popular local musical groups.
The concert features South Lakes Acapella, an award-winning choir based in Windermere, alongside Strings Aloud, an Ulverston ukulele group.
Expect a varied programme of uplifting music, harmonies and entertainment.
All proceeds will support St Mary's Hospice.

🎤 EDDI READER LIVE AT THE CORO

Award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter Eddi Reader is performing at The Coro on Sunday evening.
Known for her beautiful voice and decades-long career, including her time as lead singer of Fairground Attraction, Eddi has built a loyal following through her distinctive blend of folk, pop and traditional music.
With more than 40 years of live performances behind her, audiences can look forward to an evening of memorable songs and storytelling.
