Earlier this month, we made our way to Glasgow for the Scotland Trade Fair ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

It was such a great weekend showcasing our canvases, prints and other products in an amazing setting.

We enjoyed meeting so many other talented Scottish business owners and connecting with folks located near and far.

Happy Burns Night to all those celebrating and raising a dram tonight.

We celebrated Scotlandโ€™s bard in style at the Applecross Community Hall with haggis, neeps, and tatties, followed by a ceilidh that had some of us dancing into the wee hours.

This was also the night back in 2021, where rather poetically, the lights danced and the village was lit by a bright supermoon, and Jack captured our Burns Night Aurora.

In late 2023 the weather had not been kind to us, with storm after storm rolling through, until a brief respite allowed Jack to capture this breathtaking snowy sunrise on Boxing Day morning.

A few updates from us as we head towards December:

- The snow has melted, the hill is open, and Applecross would love to see you!

- On Friday 29th November you can head to the Christmas Market at Applecross Hall, 2.30pm-6pm, followed by the Christmas Lights switch on at the Inn ๐ŸŽ„ We're open 11-4pm at the Gallery too โ€“ why not make a day of it?!

- Jack will be in Inverness at the Eden Court Christmas Craft Market, open 10am-5pm, 29th Nov -1st Dec. Be sure to drop by and say hello โ€“ and maybe get a little Xmas shopping done at the same time ๐ŸŽ

With the first snow of November falling in Applecross today, it's only fitting that we share our snowy Bealach na Ba in Winter panorama ๐ŸŒจ๏ธ

This was the very first of Jack's aerial photographs to be featured on the gallery wall, taken back in 2015.

It's composed of 9 separate images stitched together to form the panoramic shape with plenty of winter detail!

Join Jack on a Boxing Day sunrise hike up the Old Man of Storr ๐Ÿฅพโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ It was this morning where he captured the image that would become a focal part of our 2025 calendar, and as he says: "one of those memorable experiences I shall cherish forever." Applecross Photographic Gallery

We are a photographic gallery in beautiful Applecross, Wester Ross. Set up in a disused telephone exchange with panoramic views of the Isles of Raasay and Scalpay and the Cuillin of Skye, Applecross Photographic Gallery exhibits a selection of images of local landscape and wildlife by photographer Jack Marris. Enjoy a free freshly ground coffee while you take in the views.

We also offer printing services for your own pictures, perfect as gifts or just for yourself. We can print on canvas or matt photographic paper.

Jack also runs photographic workshops that vary from private 1:1 tuition tailored to your needs to 6-day all-inclusive workshops with up to three participants. Please contact us for more details.

We are open every day 9am-5pm in summer. Please check our winter opening hours locally or on our website to avoid disappointment.
