I’ve republished the Scotland infographic based on the November 2025 Company Connecting dataset.

It reviews 2,497 active technology companies and gives a structured snapshot of where activity really sits: geographically, sector-wise and by capability.

One of the things that continues to strike me is how broad the landscape is. Yes, Edinburgh and Glasgow dominate in volume, but there is serious activity across Aberdeen, Fife, Dundee, the Highlands and beyond.

Aberdeen in particular continues to evolve. The energy story is changing, but innovation hasn’t stopped.

If you work in investment, economic development, M&A, or you’re running a tech company yourself, it’s often the patterns, not just the totals, that tell the story.

Just published a new Company Connecting article and infographic on Scotland’s tech sector in 2025 📈

For the first time... Company Connecting has completed its first pass research into tech companies in Northern Ireland. We found 684. It looks like there is a growing tech sector as 35% of the tech companies are less than 5 years old.

The infographic provides great insights into the size, age, and location of the companies as well as the skills, sectors and focus.

Almost there..... so far we have added 660 tech companies based in Northern Ireland. Belfast looks like a pretty significant tech hub. Only another 40 to complete.

We will publish information on NI tech companies similar to that in our last infographic for Scotland i.e. location, skills, size, age and sectors.
