On the 6th of July 1988, the Piper Alpha disaster became a defining moment in the history of the offshore oil and gas industry. The impact of that night is still felt across the energy industry and, more profoundly, in the lives of families, friends, and colleagues who continue to carry the memory of those who never came home.

The Cullen Report, which followed Lord Cullen’s investigation into the disaster, led to sweeping changes in offshore safety procedures. It was out of this tragedy, and the vital lessons learned, that Arnlea was founded.

From the very beginning, Arnlea has focused on improving safety, compliance, and visibility across hazardous operations. Today, our Ex inspection software, Nexar, plays a key role in helping energy companies prevent the kind of systemic issues that contributed to Piper Alpha.

👋 Welcoming Another Group of Angola LNG Inspectors to Aberdeen

Last week, Arnlea welcomed another team from Angola LNG to our Aberdeen offices for in-person training with our Ex inspection software, Nexar.

Tourino da Silva and Goncalves da Silva spent the week with Arnlea's Claire Murray and Kailee Hoffman, diving deep into Nexar's capabilities, gaining practical experience to enhance their inspection processes. Tourino and Goncalves have shown commitment to mastering the software, and we're here to support them on their journey towards safer, more efficient inspections.

While in Aberdeen, the Angola LNG team have taken the opportunity to conduct other business as well as enjoying a warm Scottish welcome. In-person training like this gives our clients a next-level understanding of Nexar's full potential, while giving Arnlea the opportunity to better understand the needs and challenges faced by our clients which allows us to continue to develop and improve our ex inspection software.
