Août, entre atelier et échappées estivales.

Des matières à transformer, des kilomètres de motifs pour la Paris Design week, puis quelques semaines à regarder ailleurs. Les couleurs, les paysages, les architectures et les motifs qui continuent de nourrir notre regard.

Un mois pour ralentir, observer et revenir avec de nouvelles idées.

Studio Journal - August 2026

August, somewhere between the studio and summer escapes.

Materials to transform, kilometres of patterns for Paris Design Week, then a few weeks spent looking elsewhere. Colours, landscapes, architecture and patterns that keep feeding our eyes.

A month to slow down, observe and come back with new ideas.

Studio Journal - July 2026

July was a month of research, colour and preparation for a busy September ahead.

A few fragments from the studio, between new patterns, samples and prototypes and preparations for Paris Design Week, with a few summer pauses along the way.

1. Hand-painted and hand-matched repeat on a new decorative pattern.
2. Finished samples ready for MAISON&OBJET.
3. Currently obsessed with this colour palette from Lefranc Bourgeois.
4. Pattern layout and a beautiful shade of green spotted in the streets of Paris.

Studio Journal - June 2026

A few fragments of studio life, every month.

Paint, colours, travels, friendships, music and everything that quietly nourishes our work.

1. Peeling dried paint from glass jars. The tiny colour treasures from Lefranc Bourgeois.

Peindre, c'est aussi regarder.

Peindre ne consiste pas seulement à faire. Il y a les moments d'hésitation, d'observation et de réajustement.

Les moments où une couleur change, où un détail modifie l'ensemble, où un dessin demande autre chose.

Une grande partie de nos journées à l'atelier se déroule dans cet espace silencieux entre l'action et la réflexion.

Painting is also about looking.

Painting isn't only about making. There are moments of hesitation, observation and adjustment.

Moments when colour shifts, when a detail changes everything, when a drawing asks for something else.

Many of our days in the studio happen in this quiet space between action and reflection.

Bleu Cobalt, hors de l’atelier.

À Angers, la visite s’est poursuivie dans une autre salle avec Aubusson tisse Tolkien.

Les tapisseries d’Aubusson, inspirées de l’univers et des dessins de Tolkien, y déploient un monde de forêts silencieuses, de lignes médiévales et de couleurs profondes. Des récits tissés à la main.

Ce qui nous a le plus touchés, ce sont les cartons de tapisserie : ces dessins préparatoires où tout commence, où le geste devient pensée et où la technique rejoint l’intuition artistique.On y découvre les couleurs annotées, les passages de fils imaginés, les détails traduits pour le métier à tisser. Comme si l’on entrait dans l’envers du décor.

Une exposition qui parle autant de transmission que d’imaginaire et qui rappelle combien le temps, la main et le regard participent ensemble à la création.

In Angers, the tour continued with Aubusson Weaves Tolkien.

The Aubusson tapestries, inspired by Tolkien’s universe and illustrations, unfold a world of silent forests, medieval lines, and deep colors. Hand-woven stories.

What moved us most were the tapestry cartoons: those preparatory drawings where it all begins, where the gesture becomes thought and where technique meets artistic intuition. There we discover the annotated colors, the imagined thread patterns, the details translated for the loom. It’s as if we were stepping behind the scenes.

An exhibition that speaks as much of tradition as of imagination and that reminds us how much time, the hand, and the eye all contribute together to creation.
