BIG announcement!
Because of the coronavirus aka COVID - 19, our startup company in collaboration with xHub Addis decided to provide our software as a service for free.
We are sure by now all of you realize there are two futures for a pandemic like Corona, Fast & Slow. Which future we will see depends on how we all react to it in the early days of the outbreak.
A fast pandemic will be horrible and cost many lives; The worst-case scenario for a fast pandemic being a very rapid rate of infection. No country is ready for this, especially our country Ethiopia with limited resources. Timely implemented social distances, hand wash, and active surveillance are key to flatting the curve before the window is closed to do so.
Here at Yhow Solutions we believe the decision made by our government to closes schools, bans public events and wash hands can be effective in minimizing the infection rate. Because of that, starting from March 23, 2020, we have decided to play our part by providing our software as a service technology for Free for higher education institutions in order to help continue the education digitally.
Using Yhow's mobile & web app, instructors in higher education institutions can continue educating their students conveniently maintaining social distancing which is the best and effective method for minimizing individual infection rates and maintain the safety and welfare of our community.
Yhow Solutions is a digital educational content sharing platform. It allows lecturers to easily share learning & course materials, embed educational videos, link reference sites & upload study guides for their students conveniently.
The technology aggregates learning materials that are available in every institution of higher education in the country and provides convenient access to the resources in a very organized manner. Students enrolled in various universities and colleges can benefit from the platform by having aggregated learning materials from their instructors as well as from other lecturers in a similar department and course via an easy to use mobile App.
How does it work?
Think of Yhow Solutions, as a social media platform for education. Instructors will upload educational contents and students will be notified when new contents are uploaded from their instructors. The unique part about this is, all the contents shared by instructors for their students are organized just like the physical classroom which is on campuses, department and years; all students have to do is log in as if they are entering their classroom by selecting the institution they learn in. Once they logged in to their digital classroom the system will save their account so they wouldn't have to go through the same process again and again.
After they logged in, they will find all the courses they learn listed down structurally and all the listed courses are managed and shared by their own instructors. This would allow the students to have familiarity with their digital classroom.

Since Yhow is a digital content aggregator, students will be able to find:
- Educational videos covering their topic of lessons
- Course materials prepared by their own instructors which are commonly known as Handouts
- Easy to grasp and attractive educational infographics
- The latest research on their topic of interests
- Tips and tricks of studying and many more
Yhow Solutions is developed with the consideration of lack of internet access because of that students have the ability to download all types of contents and study(access) them offline.
