DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TRANSMITTER 5-WAY MANIFOLD PIPING DIAGRAM
5-Way Manifold Piping Overview:
A 5-way manifold is used with a Differential Pressure (DP) Transmitter to safely isolate, equalize, vent, and calibrate the transmitter without interrupting the process. It combines two block valves, one equalizing valve, and two bleed (vent/drain) valves into a single compact assembly, making maintenance faster and safer.
In a typical or***ce flow measurement system, the High Pressure (HP) impulse line is connected to the upstream side of the or***ce plate, while the Low Pressure (LP) impulse line is connected to the downstream side. During normal operation, both block valves remain open, the equalizing valve stays closed, and the bleed valves are closed. For maintenance or calibration, the block valves are closed, the equalizing valve is opened to balance pressure across the transmitter, and the bleed valves are used to safely vent trapped pressure.
Proper impulse line installation is equally important. Maintain the correct slope, use suitable tubing and fittings, minimize air or condensate pockets, and always verify valve positions before commissioning. Correct
manifold operation improves measurement accuracy, enhances personnel safety, and extends transmitter life.
