Job Title: GIS Supervisor
GIS supervisor is responsible for managing a team of GIS Team leaders, QC team and conversions team, ensuring that projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. He oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of Spatial Data (Vector / Raster Data). The specific job duties of a GIS supervisor include:
Responsibilities:
1. Managing GIS Projects: GIS supervisor are responsible for planning and coordinating GIS projects. He define project goals, develop project plans and timelines, assign tasks to team members, and monitor progress to ensure that projects are completed on schedule.
2. Managing GIS Team: The GIS supervisor leads and supervises the GIS team, assigns tasks, provides training, and evaluates team members' performance. He ensure that the team's work is of high quality.
3.GIS Data Management: The GIS supervisor oversees the management of Spatial data. He ensure that data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
4.Quality Assurance: The GIS supervisor ensures that all GIS data, reports, and maps produced by the team meet quality standards. He perform quality checks on data, reports, and maps to ensure accuracy and completeness.
5.Budgeting and Resource Management: The GIS supervisor is responsible for managing the GIS team's budget and resources. He allocate resources, manage expenses, and make decisions to ensure that the team has the necessary tools and resources to complete projects successfully.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a GIS Manager, GIS Coordinator, or similar position with professional-level experience in the design, development, implementation and administration of geographic information systems, including analysis and database development and integration.
•Considerable knowledge of the principles and practice; of development of quality control assurance procedures and methodology; of cartographic production and design; of computerized data compilation and conversion techniques; of networked workstation computing environments; of geographic information; of database management systems; and of graphic applications and related software including ArcGIS, ArcPro ArcSDE, ArcServer and other GIS client/server and web-based software environments.
• The ability to translate client requirements into working solutions.
• Familiarity with Ordnance Survey mapping and digitizing techniques.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.
