As the year comes to a close, we’re proud to support four meaningful initiatives that address some of Estonia’s most pressing social challenges, in collaboration with Aitan Eestit MTÜ.

We’re contributing to:
💙The continued operation of the su***de prevention counselling line by SA Kadunud
💙Sustaining anonymous support groups for victims of sexual violence across Estonia by MTÜ Eesti SV Tugigrupid
💙Launching a new coping skills course group for families facing economic and self-management difficulties by Vaikuseminutid
💙Supporting the development of an online course by Kiusamisvaba Kool, aimed at helping adults recognize and prevent bullying incidents

These causes are close to our heart and reflect the kind of future we want to help shape for Estonia.

We believe every employer should find a way to support a cause that matters to them - because we all play a role in building stronger local communities!

In October, we received the highest recognition from Peaasi as an employer that values mental health.

This recognition highlights that we, as an organisation, not only support our employees but also share knowledge and best practices with others - like a plant that bears fruit and spreads its seeds.

Peaasi.ee annually awards the mental health-friendly organisation label. This initiative was created to acknowledge organisations and employers that prioritise their employees' mental wellbeing and take conscious steps to ensure that health is supported in the workplace.

At Playtech, it has become a tradition to organise Time Donation Weeks - an initiative that encourages our employees to use their one paid volunteer day per year to support causes they care about, while enjoying meaningful time with colleagues.

This year, Time Donation Weeks took place from Sept 17 to Oct 10, engaging 120 employees in impactful activities across Estonia:

🍎At the Food Bank in Tallinn and Tartu, assembling and delivering food packages to those in need
💟At the Estonian Red Cross thrift store, sorting donated goods, organising the sales area, and creating product displays
🍃In collaboration with Tartu Green Ring, mowing the Anne community pond area with scythes, placing tree trunks into the Jaamamõisa stream and raking leaves on Toomemägi Hill
🐾At the Tartu Animal Shelter, performing maintenance work to support homeless animals
🦬Together with the Estonian Fund for Nature, working in the Alam-Pedja Nature Reserve to maintain floodplain meadows, repair pasture fences and clear brushwood

Across 8 volunteer groups, our team contributed over 700 hours of volunteer work - making a real difference and enjoying every moment!

Two months have already passed since we hosted our most beloved company event of the year – Summer Days at Toosikannu Looduspark / Toosikannu Nature Resort

This year’s theme was Country and the event featured a variety of themed activities, including rodeo rides, line dancing, lasso challenges, hobby horse racing, macramé crafting, whiskey tasting, hat decorating, cowboy handicrafts, karaoke and more. The final cowboys on the prairie were generously awarded.

To get Playtecheans in the right mood, the agenda included a line dance workshop and live performances by Estonian bands Puuluup and Traffic, who truly knew how to get the crowd singing and dancing along!

The party was a great opportunity for everyone to dress up in Western-inspired outfits – cowboy hats, boots, denim and fringe. You could spot Playtecheans from afar that day, thanks to their cowboy hats, ripped jeans and flannel shirts.

Health & wellbeing has long been one of Playtech’s key charitable focus areas, and in today’s security climate, people’s sense of safety is more important to us than ever. As an employer, we also deeply value creating equal opportunities for all societal groups.

That’s why this autumn, we’ve chosen to make a life-saving gift to all Estonians by donating five AED devices to volunteer rescuers in remote areas🧯🧰

We sincerely hope these AED-s will strengthen life-saving capacity for volunteers operating far from major centers – such as Juminda, Aasukalda, Kadrina, Kõpu and Luhamaa – where it’s often the volunteer rescuers who arrive first at the scene🆘

Say hello to Kateryna Sharova, our Technical Project Manager Intern at Live TV unit, whose passion for technology is matched by her impressive 13-year volleyball career.

👩‍💻What are you studying and what inspired you to choose that path?

I obtained my Master’s in Software Engineering and I chose this path because I’ve always been curious about technology and how it can change people’s lives.

🤫What’s one unexpected thing most people don’t know about you?

Almost all my new acquaintances are very surprised when they find out that, despite my not very tall height (170 cm), I’ve been playing volleyball professionally for 13 years. I’ve had the chance to take part in Ukrainian championships and international tournaments.

☀️What led you to apply for a summer internship at Playtech?

I’m a very passionate and curious person. I love learning new things and connecting with people. I had heard many exciting stories from friends who work at Playtech about the supportive atmosphere, challenging projects and professional growth opportunities. So, when the internship opportunity appeared at the beginning of the summer, I happily decided to start this new adventure. I knew it would be a valuable experience.

🦉What are your main tasks here, and what’s been the biggest surprise about working at Playtech?

My main tasks include managing new licensee Live integration projects, facilitating launch requests and leading troubleshooting of all Live-related technical issues. The biggest surprise was how supportive my team is — in such a short time, they became like a small family to me, helping me grow both professionally and personally.

☝️What are a few skills you’ve developed during your internship?

I learned how important it is to prioritize tasks and stay calm even when all the chats are full of urgent requests. I also realized that asking colleagues for help is not a weakness but a strength. Most importantly, I understood that communication is the key to everything. This experience also showed me that successful projects depend just as much on collaboration, clear communication and good planning — not only on technical skills.

🗣What would you say to someone thinking about applying for an internship at Playtech?

I would like to wish next year’s interns not to be afraid to try, not to be afraid to make mistakes and not to be afraid to learn. Playtech is a place where you’ll find support, interesting challenges and opportunities to develop, so I recommend it 100%.

Summer flew by in the blink of an eye and last week marked the end of the standard internship period for our 31 spark-eyed summer interns!

To celebrate their journey, we hosted an internship closing and thank-you ceremony. It was our way of honoring the 2025 internship class and the exciting career paths they’re pursuing.

This year, we’re thrilled to have offered 3 interns permanent positions right after their internship, while extending the internship period for 15 others to continue growing with us!

From our conversations, it was clear that most interns were eager to gain real hands-on experience and explore the diverse world of IT roles.

The top skills they walked away with:
💡Coding and programming skills
💡Proficiency in professional tools and technologies
💡Seeing the big picture
💡Soft skills like problem-solving, clear communication, teamwork and asking questions
💡The ability to find and apply information effectively

Their biggest surprise? The supportive, approachable and welcoming work environment which made the ride smooth, inspiring and enjoyable.
