2 years Worked as an SAP IS‑U Consultant for a German municipal utility (Stadtwerke) environment, covering both distribution system operator (DSO/network) and energy supplier processes.
Focus on end‑to‑end scenarios from connection object to invoice, based on IS‑U standard.
Key responsibilities and experience Designed and explained the IS‑U data model for Stadtwerke, including business partner, contract account, contract, connection object, premise, device location, installation, device and point of delivery (PoD) from both network and supplier perspectives.
Set up and maintained technical master data for new housing areas and industrial sites (CO, service connection, premise, device location, installation), ensuring clean integration with regional structures and scheduling.
Managed the full device lifecycle for meters (conventional and smart meters): device category setup, MM/PM integration, goods receipt, stock movements, installation, removal and replacement – always with focus on correct installation structure and billing impact.
Supported inventory & logistics for metering devices by aligning IS‑U Device Management with MM/IM processes (plants, storage locations, stock transfers, stock analyses for meter replacement waves).
Worked with Energy Data Management (EDM) to handle load profiles for RLM customers: creation of profile headers, understanding of profile categories and types, profile value imports via interfaces and validation of profile data in the EDM repository.
Modelled and maintained Points of Delivery (PoD) for deregulated processes, including deregulation PoD and technical PoD, PoD ID structures and allocation of services and service providers for network and supplier roles.
Configured and analysed the billing data model in SAP IS‑U: billing class, rate category, rate type, rates, variant programs, prices, billing schemas, and rate determination; executed and analysed complete billing and invoicing runs (from meter reading order to print document). Designed and implemented rate structures and schemas for standard and dual‑rate tariffs (day/night, TOU), including integration of device rental, basic charges and quantity‑based pricing. Implemented discounts and special billing cases (e.g. social discounts, employee discounts) by using discount operands, variant programs and fact maintenance while ensuring transparency on the invoice.
Delivered and tested end‑to‑end SLP scenarios: new residential customer onboarding, technical master data setup, meter installation, meter reading, billing and invoicing for SLP customers. Delivered and tested end‑to‑end RLM/EDM scenarios: industrial customers with interval meters, PoD and profile handling, integration of profile data into billing and validation of TOU/RTP‑style billing logic.
Took ownership of a capstone‑style scenario: combined setup of master data, device management, EDM and billing for complex RLM customers, including meter replacement, tariff change and troubleshooting of typical project issues (billing errors, missing profiles, PoD inconsistencies). Consulting skills Requirements analysis and process design for IS‑U Device Management, EDM and Billing in DSO and supplier contexts.
Blueprinting and documentation of IS‑U data models and end‑to‑end processes for Stadtwerke. Test case design and defect analysis across master data, devices, PoD/EDM and billing.
Close collaboration with business departments (network, sales, billing, EDM) in workshops and UAT phases.
