Back to Singapore for Data Centre World Asia!

For the second time, etalytics will be joining the data center community at Data Centre World Asia. This year, co-founder & CSO of etalytics, Dr. Thomas Weber, will attend the event on 29-30 September.

Which EU country has the highest industrial electricity price? And which has the lowest?

The answer depends more on the comparison than you might think.

For one specific Eurostat consumption band in H2 2025, prices among the countries highlighted range from 7.48 ct/kWh in Finland to 25.52 ct/kWh in Ireland.

Germany sits at 22.64 ct/kWh, around 23% above the EU average of 18.37 ct/kWh for the same consumption band and tax definition.

But headline prices only tell part of the story. Consumption band, tax treatment, relief mechanisms, reporting period and contract methodology can all change the comparison significantly.

AI workloads are increasing power density and putting more pressure on data center operations. The challenge is not only securing more power but also operating the infrastructure already in place more intelligently.

At Yotta 2026, compute, energy, and digital infrastructure come together around a central challenge: how do we operate increasingly dense AI infrastructure at the scale demand now requires?

For etalytics, that means looking beyond individual cooling assets and coordinating the cooling and energy system as a whole. Reducing the power required for cooling and supporting infrastructure can create more headroom for compute and help operators make better use of every available megawatt.

10.4% lower electricity consumption on one cooling unit – in an already well-optimized, live data center.

That is the measured result of our cooling optimization project with Telehouse Germany at its Frankfurt data center.

Using etaONE®, the optimization works alongside the existing building automation system and continuously identifies more efficient operating points within clearly defined technical boundaries.

The result was achieved in a live data center environment without disrupting normal operations.

And the impact extends beyond the first optimized unit:

➡️ 10.4% measured reduction in electricity consumption on one of five cooling units
➡️ ~497 MWh projected annual electricity savings across the complete five-unit system
➡️ ~180 tonnes of avoided CO₂ emissions per year based on the conventional German electricity mix

Rollout across the remaining cooling units is already underway.

Last night, the project also received industry recognition: Telehouse Germany won the Infrastructure Sustainability Award at the Platform Global Awards 2026 for the Frankfurt cooling optimization project with etalytics.

A day to reflect, connect, and look ahead 🤝

Last Friday, the etalytics team came together for our bi-annual company meeting and summer party 🎉

The retrofit with the highest energy savings isn’t always the best investment. The most effective retrofit strategy balances expected energy savings with investment costs, operational constraints, and payback time.

Combining operational data with simulation provides the transparency needed to compare scenarios technically and economically before implementation.

That helps operators prioritize measures that deliver the strongest overall business case, not just the highest theoretical energy savings.
