I want to share you my experiences and more.

HOB has an implementation of V.42bis, which is Lempel-Ziv-Welch. V.42bis needs fewer resources compared to Lempel-Ziv, but compresses could be better and also has implementations of MPPC, which is used in Windows Terminal Server products.

HOB, for testing, has run-length compression and a dummy compression routine.

As HOB has many different compression- and de-compression routines, it uses its own header files.
