The beauty of continuity in our young democracy lies in our collective ability to uphold the principles of stability and progress.

As we celebrate the ongoing journey of our democracy and embrace the changes that come with it, we honour the sacrifices made by countless individuals in service of our state and nation.

Looking towards the future, I am filled with excitement at the prospect of watching us build upon the accomplishments of the past.

Happy Democracy Day!

Government is not easing the lockdown because the coast is clear or no more covid 19 cases.
This! is giving Nigerians what they want because the fallout of this decision will be on them.
Come Monday, many people will go about their affairs with no care or fear for the virus, some at this point still believe this pandemic is a sham,.....In the end, the virus will spread and curtailment will become onerous.
When that happens: many people will be left to die, treatment will be according to status AND the masses will suffer because then, treatment will come at a cost!
Those of you thinking that by causing chaos you can force the Govt to lift the ban or those saying I would rather die of covid 19 than hunger, and those saying: no palliative no stay , bear in mind that whatever happens to you will be a "you" problem not the Governments'.
The countries sharing relief items to their residents didn't just get there suddenly, it's the product of a working "SYSTEM" built overtime with continuous modifications!
Nigeria is not there yet and can't be overnight!
So, before you put yourself at risk, remember that these people you think you are fighting will steer clear of the virus(no hustling&bustling) and if by chance get infected will get firsthand treatment before 100 persons will be tested!
Putting yourself at risk is not the best way to fight, you can only fight now because you are alive and hale, once that changes(when you catch covid 19) food, work, movement,....won't matter anymore!
As you step out, consider these:
Can the government manage a full-blown covid 19 crisis?
Can you afford the treatment?
And
Can you even get the treatment?

Covid 19 is very much around, if you can help it STAY IN....STAY SAFE....TILL IT'S SAFE OUT THERE!!
DON'T BE DECEIVED AND DONT DECEIVE YOURSELF!!
IN THE END, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR "YOU"

Happy workers day
Something to ponder about

Michael Jackson wanted to live for 150 years.
He appointed 12 doctors at home who would daily examine him from hair to toenails.
His food was always tested in laboratory before serving.
Another 15 people were appointed to look after his daily exercise and workout.
His bed had the technology to regulate the oxygen level.
Organ donors were kept ready so that whenever needed they could immediately donate their organ . The maintenance of these donors were taken care of by him.
He was proceeding with a dream of living for 150 years.
Alas ! He failed.
On 25th June 2009, at the age of 50, his heart stopped functioning. The constant effort of those 12 doctors didn't work.
Even, the combined efforts of doctors from Los Angeles and California too couldn't save him.
The person who would never put a step forward without the doctors suggestion for his last 25 years, couldn't fufill his dream of living 150 years.
Jackson's final journey was watched live by 2.5 million people which is the longest live telecast till date.
On the day he died,i.e. 25th June '09 at 3.15 pm, Wikipedia, Twitter,AOL's instant messenger stopped working. Millions of people together searched Michael Jackson on Google.
Jackson tried to challenge death but death challenged him back.
The materialistic life in this materialistic world embraces materialistic death instead of a normal one. This is the rule of life.
Now let's think.
Whom do we want to impress by showing expensive house, car and extravagant wedding ?
Do you remember the food items in the wedding reception which you had attended couple of days ago?
Why are we working like an animal in life ?
For the comfort of how many generations do we want to save?
Do you spend some time with yourself, family or friends in the week?
Do you spend 5% of your earning on yourself?
Why don't we find happiness in life along with what we earn ?
Conclusion : Spend some time for yourself. We don't own any property, its only in some documents that our name is written temporarily.
When we say “ this is my property ”, God passes a crooked smile.
Don't create an impression on a person seeing his car or dress. Our great mathematicians and scientists used bicycle or scooter for commuting.
Control life or else life will control you.
The things which really matter at the end of life is contentment, satisfaction and peace.
Sadly, these cannot be bought.
Seek God and pursue righteousness.

- NCC clears doubts over 5G, COVID-19 and Security

In view of the recent development in which misleading materials with no proven evidence being circulated to link CORONAVIRUS or COVID-19 with 5G Technology, it has become imperative for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide the following clarifications;

Firstly, there is no correlation between 5G Technology and COVID-19. 5G is an advancement on today's 4G technology designed to transform the world positively.

Secondly, there is no deployment of 5G in Nigeria at the moment. The NCC back in November 2019 approved trial test for 5G for a period of three (3) months and that the trial has been concluded and installation decommissioned.

The trial among others was to study and observe any health or security challenges the 5G network might present. Relevant stakeholders including members of the security agencies were invited to participate during the trial.

The NCC will continue to maintain its policy of technology neutrality and will continue to encourage Service providers to deploy the best technology that will meet the needs of the society in a secured and friendly manner.

The following are some Frequently Asked Questions :

1. What is 5G ?

Ans: 5G is a fifth generation of mobile technology which is an improvement of today's 4G technology with enhanced capabilities. 5G technology provides the platform for new and emerging technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data to improve the way we live and work.

2. Do we have 5G network in Nigeria now?

Ans: No there is no 5G network in Nigeria at the moment. What we had was a trial test for 3 months which has since been concluded.

3. When are we expecting 5G in Nigeria?

Ans. No exact time frame but when conditions are right and all doubts are cleared.

4. Do we have spectrum for 5G in Nigeria?

Ans. Yes, particularly the millimetre wave spectrum from 24GHz and above are available.

5. Have we given out 5G spectrum to operators?

Ans. No. It will be auctioned at the appropriate time.

6. Are there 5G deployment around the world?

Ans. Yes, in countries like South Korea, China, USA, Germany and others since middle 2019.

7. Is the Radiation from 5G different from those of 2G, 3G and 4G?

Ans. No, they all belong to the same class of Non-ionizing Radiation.

8. Who is going to Allocate spectrum for 5G in Nigeria?

Ans. The National Frequency Management Council (NFMC) Chaired by the Hon Minister of Communications and Digital Economy has the responsibility for allocating bulk spectrum for various services.

9. Should I be concerned about 5G technology?

Ans. No, nothing to worry about. Safety and human health are top priority in the design and deployment of 5G.

10. What are the benefits of 5G ?

Ans. 5G technology will transform the world by connecting everything with everybody. It will create millions of jobs, it will add billions of dollars to the economy (GDP) and can solve some of our problems such as insecurity and improve governance and efficiency in the society.

11. Is 5G causing CORONAVIRUS or COVID-19?

Ans. No, there is no link what so ever between 5G and CORONAVIRUS or COVID-19.

12. Should I ignore all the negative narratives I am hearing about 5G ?

Ans. No, but rely on information from world Standards making bodies such as WHO, ITU, IEEE and industry experts for advice when in doubt.

13. Is there Standard limit set for Radiation from mobile devices?

Ans. Yes, there is Radiation emission limits set by the International Commission for Non-ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) below which the radiation is considered safe for humans.

14. Are the mobile network operators in Nigeria conforming to the Radiation emissions limits ?

Ans. Yes, the NCC has been regularly conducting measurements of Radiation emissions from Base stations across the country and they are all well below the set limits.

15. Is 5G same as Fibre cable?

Ans. No, fibre cable is a terrestrial technology for broadband that existed for decades while 5G is a new mobile technology for enhanced quality of service as explained in Q1 above.

16. Are there other sources of Radiation apart from mobile Base stations ?

Ans. Yes, there are other sources of Radiation which include television stations, radio broadcasts stations, wifi and so on. They all belong to the class of Radiation considered to be safe for humans when operated below the set limits.

17. Who owns 5G ?

Ans. 5G is not owned by anybody but collection of technologies, Standards and processes agreed at the international level by Standards making bodies.

18. Has NCC issued licenses for 5G in Nigeria ?

Ans. No, NCC has not issued any licence for 5G in Nigeria. NCC is technology neutral as such we don't license technology but assigns spectrum to operators for deployment of any service when allocated by NFMC.

19. Why are some operators rolling out fibre during the lockdown period?

Ans. As a result of the lockdown, the amount of voice and data usage has increased by huge amounts and there is need to expand the network to provide optimum quality of service to users sitting at home. Telecom is also critical for information decimination during the lockdown.

Recommedations from Psychologists.

1. Isolate yourself from news about the virus. (Everything we need to know, we already know).

2. Don't look out for death toll. It's not a cricket match to know the latest score. Avoid that.

3. Don't look for additional information on the Internet, it would weaken your mental state.

4.Avoid sending fatalistic messages. Some people don't have the same mental strength as you (Instead of helping, you could activate pathologies such as depression).

5. If possible, listen to music at home at a pleasant volume. Look for board games to entertain children, tell stories and future plans.

6. Maintain discipline in the home by washing your hands, putting up a sign or alarm for everyone in the house.

7. Your positive mood will help protect your immune system, while negative thoughts have been shown to depress your immune system and make it weak against viruses.

8. Most importantly, firmly believe that this shall also pass and we will be safe.... !

Stay positive...Stay safe. 🙏🏻🌹
