Promoting and raising Technical Awareness on enhanced regulatory compliance and ship performance optimization is of paramount importance, for achieving a much needed mentality shift towards a more efficient and sustainable shipping. Shipping is by far the most heavily regulated industry, with the workload for both crew onboard and maritime personnel onshore to be already detrimental to any efforts for more efficient operations. However, compliance with existing as well as upcoming regulations can be either viewed as an additional administrative burden adding up to the existing work overload or as an opportunity to drive transformational change. In Syndeseas Integrated Solutions Ltd our mission is to level up the game for all involved parties, by Democratizing Digitalization in Shipping. We strive to achieve that by providing the technology enabler (technology and procedures agnostic cloud based software) that will help ship owners/managers convert their daily collected operational data (noon reports) into near real-time actionable insights, regardless of the simplicity or complexity of the systems currently implemented onboard. Digitalization is key for a more efficient and sustainable shipping as it can automate and optimize the monitoring, reporting and operational data analysis process, taking the pain of regulatory compliance and in-depth operational data analysis off the shoulders of the crew onboard and personnel ashore. Well informed, timely actionable-insights driven decisions can be then taken with an emphasis on ship performance optimization, securing benefits ranging from enhanced regulatory compliance (reduction of administrative burden / peace of mind) to enhanced operational performance (fuel savings: reduced operational expenses / less emissions). In an attempt to spread technical awareness and of course the above message to the maritime industry via high quality Maritime Training Courses, we joined forces with a fellow IDEA start-up Verum et Accuratus , an Independent GHG Emissions Verifier. To date, 145+ participants (ship owners/managers, Class/ROs surveyors, Flag Administrations officers and other maritime professionals) from 15 countries participated in the 3 online (global) and 2 physical (held in Lebanon) co-developed training courses on upcoming IMO Regulatory requirements (EEXI / CII) as well as on enhanced regulatory compliance (EU/UK MRV, IMO DCS) and ship performance optimization.
